No you don't have to have a BSN to work ar St Jude. Not sure if they hire right outta school, but they might.
  2. I can't vouch for floor nurses, but in ICU we have 2 poss 3 pts and do not work like "dogs". In fact soem nights I can read a whole book.
  3. Baptist Memphis starting pay is 22.65 I think. We have diff for evenings being 4.50 and we have weekend diff. I am night weekender and we make $45/hr day is $40 Baptist has the best retirement...it is 403B and Baptist contributes 2 to 1. If you put in $100, they put in $200. 6 yrs to be vested. I have worked at Methodist downtown too, and it was fine. I can't remember pay, it has been TOO long. St Francis used to get quarterly bonuses, not sure if they still do. St Jude is an awesome place to work if you can hack it. I just can't watch children die.
  4. I have been an ICU nurse for about 10 yrs. I am going to change to OR come Jan 14th. Any advice on how to make transition smoother?
