TWU CRNA 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello all!! Just wanted to start this feed for people apply for the August 2018 group to keep people posted on interviews and admissions! Hope everything is going great for everyone! :)

Hey everyone, figured I'd introduce myself as I am applying this year too. I work at a Lvl 1 trauma center in the CTICU and have been there (only nursing job) for 2.5 years. I have my CCRN, 3.9 nursing school GPA, 321 GRE (160M, 161V, 4.0 writing). All that sounds pretty solid I think, but my big issue is that my original GPA from my first bachelors degree (I'm 36yo) was a 2.25 (had to throw in that extra 0.05). I'm hoping admissions will overlook my earlier grades, since I've mainly gotten A's since deciding on nursing, but we shall see. Good luck to everyone!

I'm so jealous of your stats! I think your first GPA is no problem since you've more than made up for it since!!

Hey walker sorry about the delay. It's tcu that heavily weighs on the gre. TWU I am not too familiar with how they consider for admission. Let me know if I can do anyrhing to help!

Hey future classmates (Wishful thinking lol),

I am also applying to TWU's CRNA program. I really don't know how I feel about my stats right now but i'm going to give it a shot. I have 3.2 overall gpa with a 3.5 gap for my BSN. I have my CCRN and CMC and I will have 2 years medical ICU experience in October. I actually work at the hospital where the California site is at and hope to get accepted to that site. The GRE is still pending for me so we will see how that goes. Good luck to everyone (:

I know i didnt apply for TCU but I am so jealous that their acceptances have already gone out! I know every journey is different, but playing the waiting game is so hard! haha, anyone else with me?

Me too the wait is the hardest! I submitted my app a couple of months ago and I'm getting so anxious. I'm hoping we hear something within the next month

That's great that they already know you in AMC! I hope to be at this location. We have similar GPA's. I was wondering how competitive this site is vs. Texas sites or if they are all about the same...? I am hoping to get in for the next cohort but anxiously awaiting an answer.

I know tell me about it! It's a tough wait. It Will all be worth it eventually. A good friend of my who has been a crna for 5 years always says the hardest part about this whole process is getting accepted to school so we're almost there!Hopefully it works out. Currently I have 6 years experience, 2 years MICU, 1 year or rotor wing flight, and 3 years I've been part of a level one trauma resucitation team at and level 1 trauma center for peds and adults. I have my ccrn, cfrn and cen. Gpa 3.8 or so and sub-par gre scores lol. So we shall see! Good luck to everyone hopefully see you all in class!

I have 3 coworkers that are in the program right now and from what I have heard the Colton, CA site is not as competitive as other sites only because people do not want to move to CA because of how expensive it is to live here opposed to places like Texas or the Louisiana site. My friends told me that they both started with 10 people with the last two cohorts. Hopefully we both will be accepted here carocam

That makes me so happy! Hopefully we will connect soon! :)

Hey all, wanted to keep this thread going. I applied for the Denver locations, anybody else pick Colorado. I imagine they are pretty competitive due to only having 7 seats or so. Would love to hear what locations everybody chose and why.

Good Luck everyone!

I also applied for the Denver and Fort Worth locations yeah I would imagine it's pretty competitive but fingers crossed!

I applied to Dallas but said I would go anywhere! I live in Dallas and just got a new place to live so would prefer to stay here, but Denver sounds awesome! I'm hoping we all hear back about interviews soon!
