Hello! I am wondering if anyone has been admitted to the part time FNP program at UM. I applied this week & I am looking forward to hearing back from them in regards to my application. I would like to know how long to wait after submitting your application through Nursing CAS ? Any information regarding the admission process and the part time program in general would be greatly appreciated

I graduated from their program and I used to teach in it. It was pretty straightforward which is what I liked. Are you looking into starting in January? They are a bit last minute when it comes to contacting candidate for an interview. I would wait about 2-3 months and if you haven't heard back them give them a call. Are you planning on working at the same time? It is definitely do-able the first year but the last semesters you may be very busy with clinical hours.

How long is the part time study and it starts in Spring? Is the tuition expensive? I am looking for FNP for low cost if possible.

Part time is 2 years and they have spring and fall commencing semesters. Tuition is about 36k for the program. I think it is worth it if you do the full time program since it is only 1 year.

Hi! I also applied to the program for Spring 2016. I haven't heard anything back from them :bored: but I know the deadline is not until next week... So I am staying hopeful! The whole nursingCAS process took forever to to get all my transcripts and verify everything!! Hopefully we hear from them soon!

You may hear within the month for an interview.

I applied for the adult gero NP an had my interview yesterday. You should be hearing from them soon!

I had my interview on Sept 8th and now am waiting for a response. They told me it can take up to 4 weeks for a decision to be made and they will mail a letter. What did they tell you in your interview?? As far as NursingCas, it takes about a month for everything to go through. Hope that helps and good luck!!

I applied to their Adult Geriatric Acute Care NP program. Nursing CAS was HORRIBLE. I had multiple issues that were never addressed and it took me two months longer than it should have to get my application to go through. That being said, I was contacted about 2 weeks ago to set up an interview. I interviewed last Wednesday 9/2. It went pretty well as far as I know. Would have been infinitely better if I was able to interview in person rather than Skype because it is super distracting and you are already nervous to begin with. My understanding is that the acute care program was pretty full, but it takes less students than the FNP program. I asked how long it would typically take to hear from them after the interview and they said 4 weeks. This leads me to believe they will be interviewing for another week or two at least. They asked me a decent amount of pathophysiology and pharmacology questions during my interview. May not be a bad idea to review some material while you wait. There are tons of great review lectures on YouTube. Also, have a 5 year plan in mind and know the role of the FNP. Good luck! I hope you get a phone call soon!

I was told the committee will meet on 9/16 an we should start to hear back in about a week or two after that. The interview was pretty straight forward; know the role of an NP, why you decided on your program, 5year plan, an clinical questions. An yes know your pathophysiology an pharmacology! Hope this helps :)

I am so excited for you guys! I have not heard anything as of yet... Nursing CAS was a little bit of a nightmare... I hope to hear something soon! Best of luck to you all!! :x3:
