South University FNP MSN program???

Nursing Students NP Students

Updated:   Published

So did anyone or is anyone currently in the FNP or Adult NP online program at this time? I spoke to an admissions rep and was really impressed. The set up is nice with one course at a time, although was told you can talk to your advisor and sometimes layer your courses here and there as well (like an 11wk course with one 5.5 wk course) which I'd prefer to do to get done faster...since I did my ASN at Excelsior and am finishing my BSN I'm well used to online format courses and have my time down to a science. I was planning on beginning my application process now, so that in December we submit everything with the potential to start the first week of Feb 2014...anyone else??? Any thoughts???

Hi ucm15,

I sent you a PM with the link.

Hi rymero,

I sent you a PM with the link. Good luck!

Can I get a link to the Facebook group too please.

I am currently an FNP student at South University and have one more class before my first practicum. I did the BSN completion program at South. The format for theory worked around my work schedule which was M-F 8-430. A few months ago I was able to change shifts to weekends so now have more availability for clinical hours which for me was necessary since the majority of primary care clinics in my area are only open during the week. Can someone please pm me the link to the Facebook page? Thanks!

Melody48,

Thanks for sharing this enlightening document with the rest of us. You're totally right! I really appreciate your initiative to dig this up; although from what the document says, SU is not on probation. It says that "The Board continued the accreditation of the following institutions and placed them on Warning". The document does contain three subheaders with institutions that actually are on probation. When the 12 month period ends, we'll know for sure which action SACS takes. (fingers crossed everything goes well!)

Again, thanks a million for sharing!

Ted

I have applied to join the facebook group since it is a closed group, can you approved that?

I attend South online in the FNP program. I am taking APN II and Nursing Research. I would like to join the group as well. Thank you

Hi Lnewton1,

So, you're one of the brave ones to double up on classes, huh? I'm looking to double up Patho and Theory starting next week... Anyway, Jenny is great at PMing the link to the FB page and I'll see you there soon!

Hi all

I am trying to decide on an online FNP program. I recently withdrew from a DNP program where I already finished 1 year. I do not have 3 more years left me. How long is this program if you transfer no classes in? At what point does the paper writing slow down?? I have done a lot of those already. Thanks for input.

The paper writing does slow down some once you start your clinical rotation, however, you have quizzes and midterm and final and typhon entry so pick your poison!

EJN,

\ have you doubled up those classes yet? I am thinking about it also next class, but the paper writing is killing me right now. I hope to get a handle on it by the time I finish this first class. Thanks for your input!
