So did anyone or is anyone currently in the FNP or Adult NP online program at this time? I spoke to an admissions rep and was really impressed. The set up is nice with one course at a time, although was told you can talk to your advisor and sometimes layer your courses here and there as well (like an 11wk course with one 5.5 wk course) which I'd prefer to do to get done faster...since I did my ASN at Excelsior and am finishing my BSN I'm well used to online format courses and have my time down to a science. I was planning on beginning my application process now, so that in December we submit everything with the potential to start the first week of Feb 2014...anyone else??? Any thoughts???
Hello, I am researching for FNP programs and ran across your thread. Were you able to finish the program? Also, would you recommend South University? I spoke to an advisor with SU today and may incline to attend.
I am at South University in their FNP program. Please, Please, Please, do not make my mistake and go to this school. You are not taught...they actually don't have teachers only "facilitators". You are tested over material not in the reading. I so wish I had gone to Ohio State or the University of Cincinnati. I am smart and hard working and I LOVE to learn and test and this program has been horribly disappointing. I am half way through so I cannot transfer, but honestly, I am going to graduate with a degree from a University that I am embarrased to say I attended.
any new updates on the FNP class or anyone that has finished or in it currently?? I am supposed to start in august and I am worried with all the bad reviews??? please help? [email protected] Thanks!
I graduated in 2016 in SU. As for all online schools, what you put in is what you learn. You can do the bare minimum but you will suffer when you practice or even when getting ready for the boards. The school work is manageable but I did PRN when I had my clinicals, 2 days PRN and 2-3 days clinicals/wk. My only issue now is the support once you graduate. It’s very hard to get someone on the phone or to get forms signed. And I have lost a job since I was not able to get licensed at another state because of their crappy post graduate care. Maybe that’s something you want to talk to them about and let me know what they tell you ?
Hi!
You seem the be the only one with positive feedback about South University Online FNP Program. Please email me: [email protected]
I would love more information about their program. Thank you in advance!

Hey JayJayBSNRN, So sorry for such a late response... Allow me to congratulate you on having graduated!!! It is one amazing accomplishment. I did graduate back on May 17th, 2017... Studied really hard and passed AANP certification board in June. I only used the tools given to us by South University for free, including the APEA QBank and the Hollier Videos. Aside from that, I only spent $40 for the Leik book, which is invaluable! I am a little puzzled by all the people in this thread saying that SU has a terrible pass rate. All of my classmates passed their board certification within weeks of having graduated and we all passed on our first try. I am certain that will be the case with you as well. Best of luck and congrats again!
