South University FNP MSN program???

Nursing Students NP Students

Updated:   Published

So did anyone or is anyone currently in the FNP or Adult NP online program at this time? I spoke to an admissions rep and was really impressed. The set up is nice with one course at a time, although was told you can talk to your advisor and sometimes layer your courses here and there as well (like an 11wk course with one 5.5 wk course) which I'd prefer to do to get done faster...since I did my ASN at Excelsior and am finishing my BSN I'm well used to online format courses and have my time down to a science. I was planning on beginning my application process now, so that in December we submit everything with the potential to start the first week of Feb 2014...anyone else??? Any thoughts???

My advisor just sent in my completed application. She "wants" me to start in December 2013. Will they accept a student that fast? Its Nov 28 today. Some of the people in my school are going to Herzing and Midd Tennessee NP programs. Thoughts?

In actuality, it's October...still have 1 month.

Oops you are so right :) it is October ... Been battling the flu :/

I will be starting classes in December..dec 23rd to be exact. Looking forward to getting this journey started. Any advice would be nice..thanks

I'm waiting to see if I get accepted and my admissions advisor told me I could start as early as Nov 14.....wonder why you guys who are already accepted aren't starting until Dec?

I had some personal things going on...told them dec would be better start for me

To lhflanurse or anyone in South University's NP program,

Can anyone describe the structure of the NP classes (pathophysiology, pharmacology, physical assessment, and practicum) in South U's FNP program? Are there any lectures provided and do these courses mainly involve case studies, group projects, proctored exams, etc.?

I am considering applying into this program but found very little info on their website. Would also like to know if you guys are happy with this school/program so far.

Any info anyone going through this program can share will be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

Thanks, lhflanurse. I just sent you an email.

Was looking forward to that response also

Hi bornleader,

Not sure if you were able to get a direct response from lhflanurse, but basically was informed that assignments consist of papers and discussion boards. No quizzes or exams. No mention of lectures either. The responder is happy overall with the program and recommends it.

Everything sounds good so far, and I have made up my mind to sign up for their MSN-FNP program.

Thanks Islander RN. Yes you should go for it, i will start in decemeber

I was wondering if anyone knows the passing rate from South University, I looked in the website provided for the ranking and could not find anything as well.
