Congrats!!!!! Which program from South University; online or campus? I'm finishing South in December(í ½í¹), and I'm debating if to take a live review or buy their reviews like Amelie Hollier or Berkley, and study from those. Also I have Leik, and other books to review from. I have been listening to Hollier CDs to keep all information fresh.

That is not correct, Georgetown have a FNP program. Look into their website.

I see, so you teach? What courses and for which degree? And which are tier #1 schools? I agree it depends on the "pickiness" of the instructor, because they are the one reading your papers, and giving the grade. I had taken classes in another college, and it was big in APA. My friend is in UCF, and is not only big in APA, also in how you send your papers, you get points deducted, if send it wrong. But it was amazing information you provided. I'm sure you made your research prior to start the classes at South, right? If you decided to leave South, what are your other choices?

You APA formattng in South or any other institution you attend. maybe you are better going to class since computer based learning is not for everybody. But even if you go to class, you have to do your papers with APA formatting. No matter the institution you decide to go. My advise; buy an APA book, also South in digital books have it available to you. And lhflanurse mentioned before, every instructor have their own 'protocol", or way to correcting things, so you just need to adapt. I can tell you, is in any institution. I took my ADN in campus, and we suffered like you have no idea. No clear instructions were given, and APA was huge, and expectations were high. My BSN did it online, and APA was big, but clear instructions were given, just like South gives you the "rubrics". If you follow them, you will be ok. When I decided to start my FNP, I was so nervous, did not know what to expect! I know is not easy, but if you apply yourself, is doable. I'm in my fourth class. My friends are taking Nursing Research, and they say is really hard!!!!! My NUrsing Research in my BSN was difficult as well, so is expected in an MSN level.

I have to agree with lhflanurse, I did my BSN in another institution and it was APA all the way. My friend is doing her BSN in UCF, and is APA all the way. Every school that you attend will check your plagiarism, grammar, and formatting. You cannot escape these requirements, and if you do, then rethink that school. Whenever you take online classes, there is a requirement in which you have to justify the credit/hour requirements. Also, I did take classes in campus with South, and I have to tell you the requirements do not change much, big in APA, papers and so on. You have a lot of busy work to do, regardless(online, campus). My friends graduated from South(Tampa), and so far they all pass the boards. I decided to do online due to family and work issues with scheduling. I have other friends that went to USF, half of the program is online and the other half, you have to go to campus. Same thing, APA, Turninit, and it has to be perfect!!!!!! I'm waiting for the first cohort from online South to check their impressions regarding the preparation obtained and passing the certifications. I am currently in online taking my fourth class.

Why is not honest to utilize a program that would just format the paper to APA for you as in the computer? I do not understand.

Hi LisalaRN99, I would like for you to share the experience with South, I am currently in the program. Basically, I just started I'm in my second and third class. Appreciated.

I had many other laptops, but Mac is by far the best, especially when it comes to saving documents, which I would recommend to do in this program. You always can download for free the upgrades, and is super fast, and can get the windows application for mac for the word, outlook, excel, and others. I have the MAc Pro air since two years ago and it works like brand new. I know is pricey, but you get what you paid for.

I was wondering if anyone knows the passing rate from South University, I looked in the website provided for the ranking and could not find anything as well.

I have many friends that graduated from South University (about 4 of them finished, and about 6 are about to be finished with job offers), passed the boards and are working at this time. I do not see the negative, when you pass the boards and find a good job.

I was a school nurse, I worked my way up from LPN, to RN BSN, and now going to school to become a FNP, and is a work in progress. I believe is possible if you take the online route.

How far in the program are you? I have taken one class and currently taken 2 classes. And is a lot of material to cover! in both, online and class. I think is would be like this in any other college, anyways.

How do you consider the online program in terms of load of work, and of course, how manageable is the online classes while you work. Also I was told that there are no breaks in between, in Christmas in only one week, before continuing the class. I have taken one so far, and it was good, I'm in my second, and so far, is ok. Also what are your thoughts of the program itself.
