Just had my DM student here with a deactivated pump. Of course it was alarming and we were working on fixing it. The student is a little self-conscious about the sound and hates creating self-attention, so the teacher that burst through the door loudly exclaiming, "WHAT IS THAT SOUND? YOUR PUMP SOUNDS LIKE THAT?!?!" definitely did not help the situation at all. UGH.

This is why I don't say much about the child's illness unless the child says it. I offered candy to my students last year for doing so well in the screenings, for my only diabetic student, I bought him sugar free candy and gave him some, so he won't be left out. :3

This is in the same category as the teacher saying "Oh, you poor thing! You look so sick. Your head is warm, I bet you have a fever. Poor guy, you need to go home!"

ummm...NO! this child is a FF with a behavior plan in place. He's just trying to get out of class, you should know this because it's usually your class that he's trying to skip!
