I think one of the things I love about school nursing is that you get to start fresh every school year. Set new goals, etc. After three years at a middle school - I am now going to an elementary school. I will be working with the kids part of the week. The other part - I will be mentoring / orienting new school nurses. Sort of the best of both worlds - I will be getting to spend time with peers as well as students.

It will be a transition. I will actually miss those crazy adolescents and I will have to delegate a lot to my health aide who will be at my school when I am not ( not my biggest strength).

Plus, I have a baby on the way in January....

Yay for you ! It looks like you'll have alot going on this year. You do have the best of both worlds and I'm sure you're health aide will keep things running smoothly while you're not in the building. Good luck with the new transition and new born baby !

Good luck with your new position and baby. I know what you mean about starting fresh. I bought myself some new file folders and notebooks and plan to be more organized this year. I did pretty good last year, but there are always ways to improve!

congrats on the baby and the new job. im neww to school nsg. kinda nervous and just trying to get as much info as possible from this forum.i start next week. wish me luck
