Guys....!

I'm from the great white north where we are more than equipped for this weather. What are all you southern folk doing to deal with the snow? It's not like you have city plows or sanding trucks to clear the roads and I doubt if many of you have snow shovels in the garage.

We just admire the snow as we slip and slide our way to work, while mindlessly crashing into each other.

To all you southern folk - BLACK ICE WARNING!!!! BLACK ICE WARNING!!!! BLACK ICE WARNING!!!!
Those of us who deal with snow know all about it.
BLACK ICE looks so innocuously like wet roadway blacktop or wet sidewalk. But don't be fooled!
It almost always occurs when snow melts during the day, but the temp still says low. So the melt freezes into BLACK ICE.
You guys usually don't municipally budget for road maintenance like much SNOW PLOWING and SANDING and BRINING. So it becomes a problem!

I moved from Chicago to Missouri, and you wouldn't think that would be a big change but they seriously are NOT prepared for snow/ice down here! There is always a "salt shortage" and a few times they have used coal near us.

We had dusting of snow this morning and my daughter ran outside squealing with pure joy! That child LOVES the snow, mommy does not. I just hate being cold, but she feels no cold.

My niece told me this too. That day, a lot of schools let kids run outside and play in the snow and in all honesty, my kids are prideful and a bit dumb sometimes. We told them it will snow, and to bundle up. Did they listen? Nope, they just took sweaters and lo and behold, they were allowed to go play in the snow.

I went to get them from school and I was cold as hell, bundled up like a snowman and they come in happily in my car in just sweaters and I'm like, "aren't you guys cold?"

Now my youngest is coughing and sneezing and it's like, I told you so.

I'm late to the game but we had 7 inches in my Atlanta suburb last Friday & Saturday. Such a rare occurrence down here! It was beautiful. But we had tree limbs falling everywhere in my neighborhood and power was out at my house for 48 hours and I was COLD! But it made for a romantical weekend at least!

But we had tree limbs falling everywhere in my neighborhood and power was out at my house for 48 hours and I was COLD! But it made for a romantical weekend at least!

Maternity wards will be hopping in 36-40 weeks in the Atlanta area.

Friends in Woodstock lost power for 4 days I think.
