I'm a proud Nursing Student at URI.
I wonder if anyone here knows anything about this program, as I've just transfered from a school in Virginia.
Anyway, I can't wait to graduate and become a nurse, but it is gonna take a while... I can always eat some Quahogs while I'm waiting.
:) HI

What the heck are quahogs? Also what school did you transfer from in VA, I am looking into other schools outside of virginia...how do you like URI so far?

Think of a big hard shell clam... that's along the same line as a quahog.
To the original poster... welcome to RI

HI,
My wife is a Sigma Theta Tau graduate of URI's Nursing program - (I graduated with a BA in Poly Sci myself and was a former student body President - please don't hold that against me hahaha - it was a joke i took a little too far:).
From what she has told me of her experience, it was a generally good one. She respects many of the people running that program too. She has been a critical care nurse of 15 years now.
The people whom run this University are top notch from the Presidents office down. President Carothers is accessible and caring.

ps don't forget to try the clam chowdah (as we say here in RI) in the Point Judith restuarants - all good fresh seafood right of the fishing boats there.

Welcome to RI!
I am a nursing student at CCRI right now. I was accepted at URI and RIC but I couldn't afford either so I am going to CCRI to get my ADN and then to URI (cause I live right behind URI) for my BSN. I hope your enjoying URI, I know some great nursing students there. Personally I'm not crazy about quahogs but I could def. go for some clamcakes and chowda (lol) and a nice chocolate cabinet to wash it down with. :)

And if clam sandwiches aren't to your liking-how about a grinda? And some coffee milk? I also went to CCRI- my pinning is tomorrow!

Hello Everybody,
My husband and I are getting stationed in Rhode Island and I have just got accepted to RIC and CCRI. I am thinking about going to RIC. I have to take Chem II. The school does not offer the class until Spring semester so I need to find a comparable chem to RIC Chem 106, which is organic and biological chemistry. Does anyone have any info where I might be able to? I have taken most of my sciences online throught EDUKAN.. Any ideas or help PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you

URI offers Chem II as Chem 112 However, it also has lab which is Chem 114. It is definitely a step up from Chem 101.
I know that the URI has 2 summer sessions> one will start this monday.
CCRI has a very strong nursing program and produces wonderful graduates. I've worked with nurses from all programs in RI and I see NO difference between schools. The CCRI may have more adult learners. At my hospital we see mostly URI and CCRI students with occassional RIC students. URI has the masters program for NP and is the only one in the state.
CCRI chemistry is equivilant to URI is you are looking for gen chem. Whatever you do if you end up at URI go to Rate my professor . com and look up Euler for chemistry. Nuff said.
Welcome to RHode Island. Good luck.
