Would you take these 3 classes at once?

I am in Anatomy and Micro. These classes started last week at one college. I am scheduled to start English 1A or Psychology 1A (I will not keep both, but am thinking about keeping 1 of them) at a different college next week. I need all A's. If I don't have 3 classes, I am not sure how I will fit the rest in next semester. What should I do? My schedule is Tues and Thursday sciences, the other 2 are online.. I work per diem and do have 2 children who are school aged so they are in school until 2.

If you keep an online class, I'd keep English. I have A&P and Psychology and right now because we are talking about Development in Psych and structures and functions of the body in A&P I have to be careful not to get my wires cross. I think you can do it. Your passion for wanting to succeed as a mother, worker and student will show. And utilize your down times whether it be a day a few hours etc. Make sure you get you some "me" time in. That will balance and separate everything out. You can do it!

It sounds possible to me! I took three science is one term while working part time and parenting. It gets hectic at times but it is doable. If you are crafty you could turn A&P into fun projects to do with your kids. Like tracing them on a large sheet of paper and you draw and label parts of the anatomy then they help by coloring it in and asking you "mom what was this again" about a million times. For my English class we had a bit of our own choice in topics to write about. If you are allowed to pick your topic for an essay write about something related to your science courses. Or if one of your science courses requires an essay knock out two birds with one stone! My Micro course needed a paper on determinitive bacteriology which I also used as the final paper for a technical writing course I took that term. Good luck!

Oh gosh, while I would never recommend taking those classes at the same time (I took A&P II, Micro, and English 1B in the same semester and it didn't go very well lol) I would say you will have less work if you take psych. In all of my English classes there are tons of papers to write and discussions you have to participate in. Hopefully psych won't have quite as much homework to worry about. Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice! I wanted to add that I need English either this semester or in the summer. If I put it off until summer, my summer semester will be Physiology, Speech and English.??

Specializes in critical care.

My fall semester was sociology, world history, a&p 2, and micro. The first 2, I took online and they ended up simply being busy work and distractions. I worked my tail off- hardest semester I've had yet- but it was my favorite semester so far and I got all As. I also have 2 kids, both in school, and I do not have a job outside of the home. If you have a job, I would say don't do it. If you don't, then go for it, but be prepared to work much harder than previous semesters.

How are your writing skills?? If you feel comfortable with all the writing that is involved in English and still will have time to study the A&P and Micro then keep the English.

I myself would drop the English and Take the Psychology. I am not a quick writer and would not want to take that extra time I would need to write from the time I needed to study for A&P and Micro. These are very important classes most Nursing Programs look at the Grades from.

What ever you decide, GOOD LUCK!! You will be very busy especially with having younger children!!

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU
