What should i do with nursing?

Hi, I am trying to get into a nursing program. I have not done good in Chemistry for the first time, but it seems as though a lot of nursing programs are going on the first time you take it.. I have gotten an A's on my psychology, B's for both Anatomy and Physiology I and II I got a C+ in Microbiology but Chemistry I did not pass it because a D is not passing.. Are there any school out there that would allow me to take Chemistry over so I can do better because I really want to be a Nurse.. Please, any good advice would help.. I don't know if Males are good for Nursing, but I don't care, I want to do it.. I am just about done and need to take the NLN or the HESI Exam in the spring. Now, I don't even know if I should take it.. I need some direction.. Please help and Thanks

I got my ADN from Hudson Valley Community College in NY. I know that things have changed with admission since I attended but they would take your latest grade, not your first time taking the course.

My associate degree school does not give you points based on chemistry. However, it will give you points for your anatomy grades and you get like 4 points for an A and 2 points for a B and nothing for a C for anatomy I and II and micro. They only consider the first attempt.

I'm going to let others more recently in school answer your actual question, but something you wrote concerns me: what do you know about nursing? How have you decided you want to do it....if you can say something like "I don't know if males are good for nursing"? Have you shadowed a nurse, talked with any nurses (live, in person) to get an idea for what they do? Bottom line is of course males are good in nursing, just as females are good in nursing...and males are bad in nursing, just as females are bad in nursing. Maybe you're just very young and haven't researched this much?

I as a male nursing student actually take some offense to that like seeing as many of the males in my class are consistently ranked well and do well on exams and such. It appears you havent done any research on males in nursing, and you should because males are becomming more common in nursing. In fact about 10% of all nurses are males, and that number is growing. Males are respected in the same sense as females for nursing. However much of it is based on how the nurse is. Ive met some amazing male nurses and some not so amazing male nurses. Should I assume all male nurses are bad because of how one male was?

Im a male and in nursing school. I hate hearing people think male nurses or male nursing students arent good. If thats your thought or approach to nursing, you may be looking at the wrong field.
