Prerequisites

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I FINALLY found an accredited college to enroll in (Thanks to some allnurses members)

Unfortunately, I applied, submitted HS & College transcripts, and that non refundable fee and was told that I missed the Fall '15 deadline. I was told that in Sep '15 to take their COMPASS test and prerequisites and when all is finalized I will be looking at late Fall '16.

What I want to know is; there is a regionally accredited college to where I can take their placement tests anytime as well as prerequisites for ADN Nursing. Their deadline is in Aug 27th at the other college.

Will my prerequisites with that college I want to take them at have to match the college's prerequisites at the one that I missed, even though the concept of the courses are the same? The only thing different is the course code number but they are all important requisites to get into for Nursing RN.

EX: The college in which I missed the deadline's Nursing pre'reqs are;

BIOL 2113 possibly equivalent to my college which their prereqs' ~BI276 Anatomy and Physiology (Biology) I...So on and so forth. OR, do I have to go with the exact prerequisites the college in which I missed the deadline has for me to get in?

The best way to deal with this is to speak to the school in question, providing them with the course descriptions/syllabi for the proposed courses from other schools, and get their ok, before enrolling. Make certain that you get the approval in writing.

Most schools have entirely different required pre-requisites.

As far as the codes being different, you'll have to speak with the school in question.

Some schools list credit equivalences on their website in relation to other colleges. For example : PHIL 1310 at one school may transfer to PHIL 1301 at another school. If that makes sense. (Random numbers by the way)

Like others have stated, best way to find out would be by talking with an advisor at the schools which interest you.
