Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So after many...many years of putting off going to school because of well life I will finally be starting my pre nursing classes this fall. I'm a little nervous about it all because I do have 3 kids and I will have a new born right before classes start. I also work full time as PCT at the hospital. I'm aware of the fact that I have a lot to deal with but I am up for the challenge. Are there any other pre nursing students that can relate to my situation? Just someone I can relate to.

I can definitely relate. I had a toddler and a new born when I started back to school. I remained full time and adjusted well back to the student life vs the working life. Luckily I didn't/still don't have to work during school, but I know it can be done. I had to take last fall off as I had my third child. Now I have 2 tots and a baby, and I'm starting my bsn program in August. I'm a bit nervous, but I know I can do it. This CAN be done. It's harder for us parents, especially if the other parent isn't in the picture which in my case he isn't anymore. My marriage ended smack dab in the middle of this semester with 3 little ones at home with me while I'm taking A&P2, microbio, nutrition, & lifespan. I'm still keeping up with A's in all courses even while my life is a hot mess right now. If I can do this, anyone can do this. Will power, determination, and really good study habits are the keys. I'm a little nervous about it all but I am ready. I spend so much time on youtube looking at video about study tips and organization for school and things of that matter. I know its going to be hard and a lot of work but Im ready.

I'm graduating in a week with my Associates of Science in Biology. I'm going to be starting nursing school next Spring. I'm older (37) and I have two kids that I homeschool. While I don't work, I can relate in several ways :)

I have a 9 year old son, and wife. I spend a lot of time away studying, as I have huge issues studying at home as I get very easily distracted. Not only that I also work full time, so there is a lot of guilt, but it will be worth it in the end.

I am 42 years old. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old. I am taking my entrance exam in 21 days and I hope to be a nursing student this fall! It's nice to see I'm in good company!

I have a husband, a three year old, a three month old and I work full time. I took my prereqs at night and just a few at a time. It gets hard, but when you want something hard enough you make it work. I will be entering an evening nursing program and I plan to continue working. Taking it day by day, class by class is all we can do. Good luck! My husband is extremely supportive and I have family that lives close. Having a good support system is mandatory!

YES! I can so relate. I'm starting classes this summer after years of putting it off. I have a 10 year and 1 year old. I also work full time. I'm really nervous but so excited to finally get started. I know it will be tough but so worth it in the end :)

Thanks everyone. Its good to know that I'm not alone. All of the word of encouragement was much needed. I was starting to feel like I was aiming to high...but I'm glad to know I'm not and it perfectly doable with sacrifices. I know I can do it.

Hi, congratulations on taking the steps to further your education! I just completed my first year of pre-nursing courses. It was difficult, as I delivered my son in November and I have two girls ages 10 & 5. I got through by serious motivation and dedication to my classes. I'm determined to graduate because I tried going to college before and dropped out becuase it was too much, now I feel like it's now or never. There will always be an excuse or a reason not to go, don't let anything stand in your way. Luckily, my husband is so so supportive and takes on more responsibility at home so I can study. I set aside time for my family and school daily. I don't do homework during the day unless my husband is off, that way they have my undivided attention. With a 6 month old, breastfed baby, I totally get not having time for anything. Good luck to you! You got this í ½í¸Š

I can definitely relate. I also have 3 kids and I work full time. I only have one class left before getting my degree in Pre-Nursing and have kept a 4.0 science GPA and a 3.8 overall. If you have any family or friends that can help you with the kids, take advantage of that. I didn't take more than 2 science classes at a time each semester, that also helped. I know you can do it and good luck!
