Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Has anyone taken the PAX recently? How was it? Do you have any tips? I take mine in about 10 days and I'm super nervous!

I took the pax back in may I scored an 83% my school only requires an 60% for entrance. It was pretty easy for me. I used the pax study guided that NLN created. It was a big help. You should use it if you haven't.

I took it in the beginning of April. It was my second time taking it. I scored a 128 composite score my first time and was rejected for the program I wanted to get into. I did fairly well on the English and Science parts, but not so good on the Math, so I decided to give it another try. I mostly used the Review Guide from the NLN to review everything, but also used a site called Khan Academy to relearn some math stuff. I scored a 142 composite score on the one I took recently.

When you all studuied did you do well on the practice tests? Is it the same format :/

Yes it is. When do you take it

I take it on May13th. I did the science content review and didn't do so well but I studied every page of the science!

Brush up more on your science then I used quizlet as well to help me. I downloaded the app on my phone so I did it when i had time

Hi Ladies, it is nice to see some recent comments about the Pax-Rn. I am currently studying to take the PAX and hopefully get in to Galen in San Antonio Texas. I am looking for a Study Buddy in my area. I have the NLN review guide. This is making me crazy, I have been studying the Science section pretty hard, and think I am getting it, but when I do the practice question questions, I don't do very well. I guess I will continue until I do better. Anyone who has taken the test, on the physics section, do you need to know how to work out problec in the physics, or do you just need to basically know the physics? I am so stressed. I want this so bad, part of me wonders if I am just making more out of it that it really is.

I took the PAX NLN pre nursing entrance exam. I studied the NLN pre nursing exam book and I did great. So my advice is get that book, it helps :) Good luck.

I got an 86% on the PAX which is a 124 percentile. I am on the waiting list for my nursing school and should know in a month or so if I get pulled off of the list and will be accepted :/ I hate waiting!

For my school the English part was tough for most students, a lot of people ran out of time. I ran out of time on the math section, it's not my strongest subject I ended up taking quite a few guesses. I ended up getting a 133, which I was told was in the 93rd percentile. My best advice would be to time yourself while practicing, and do all the practice tests in your review book from front to back!! confidence is key, walk into the test telling yourself that your going to kick butt, leave your nervousness at the door ... Good luck =]

@lonestarlady550 on my test I had quite a few physics questions, biology some chemistry and the rest were anatomy. As far as the physics I was given graphs and asked to determine volts and amps using basic formula V=IR, and P=IV. There were also questions on another graph showing temperature and pressure that showed lines and asked which line showed boiling and which line showed sublimation. I had taken basic physics and chemistry right before I took the test it really helped.

Waiting is the worst part. I thought JULY 1st would never come for me. Tomorrow I find out yay or nay. Good luck to you getting accepted :)
