My height is 4 ft. & 9 inches. Am I qualified for BSN Course?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Dear All,

I am presently working outside the Philippines and planning to go back home & enroll BSN as a "second courser" in June 2007. I am 4 ft. & 9 inches tall.

I am asking for advice from you guys (or whether you know someone) who is inspired to become a nurse but has a height below 5 ft.

Thank you in advance.

My mother-in-law is 4'9" and has been a nurse for over 25 years and loves her job. Height doesn't matter!

My program was an ASN, but I know plenty of "short" people who did the BSN with no problem. I'm 4'11" & my only challenge so far has been reaching the top of some of the IV poles. All my best to you! :wink2:

Are there seriously schools that have minimum height requirements?!?

Of all the things for them to be concerned with....man.

I'm just under 5 feet and volunteer in a hospice. The one thing I've learned the hard way is to not reach across beds to do things -- I've pulled my back one too many times trying to do something in a hurry. I always have to put the rail down, etc., do it the right way......

I suppose shortness must have its advantages somewhere in nursing. mmmmmm

Don't worry. You will really feel comfortable with your height when you go back to PI. I know there are some nursing schools who are particular with skin. You need to see a dermatologist if you have pimples and if you are taking up nursing in this school.
