Lehman College Fall 2017 Admissions?

Im going to be applying to Lehman's Generic BSN program for fall 2017 and I was wondering what my chances of getting accepted are. So far I have a 3.73 pre req gpa and in the process of taking microbiology and organic chemistry lab and lecture. I hope to get it to a 3.8 if I get A's for these 3 classes. As for my Hesi score, I got a 92 overall, 92 for Reading Comprehension, 94 for Math, 92 for A&P and 90 for Critical Thinking. If anyone who has previously been accepted could share their stats with me that would be great! :D Also, if you're applying for generic Fall 2017 as well you're welcome to share them too so we can see how competitive this year is! I've heard 3.5 is the cut off but I'm sure it depends on the year. Thanks everyone!

Questions:

1. How are the clinicals? Do you like your placement? Your clinical instructor?

2. How is your clinical performance evaluated? Is it hard to keep at least the minimum passing grade both in lectures and clinicals?

3. Do you feel like the clinicals is a great place for you to learn? In other words, do you feel like your learning experience is abundant?

4. Is there anything you dislike about the program and why? Therefore, what would your advice be for future students?

Im going to do my best answering these lol. I am in the generic program and not the accelerated. I'm sorry if I led you to misunderstand me. I'm still answering these questions from my perspective.

1. I have had two clinicals so far and i liked my clinical placements and my professors so far. My professors have been awesome at helping us learn a lot. As i said earlier, every professor is different and this is my experience. At clinicals, we help the nurse's aides and also follow the nurses and observe what they do. Some of the nurses are gracious enough to let us give medications and help them with hands on stuff.

2. So far the clinical evaluations have not been a big deal but I heard they are rolling out a new way to evaluate us so I don't know how that will be. Clinical is pass or fail so there is no grade and it is really the least of your worries. Lecture on the other hand, can be overwhelming and you need to stay on top of your reading, form study groups and do tons of questions.

3. Every clinical day is different. I leave clinicals some days feeling like I could start work the next day lol (of course not) and some other days I feel like I need ten more years to even step out as a new nurse. So it depends on the nurse you get paired with and his/her willingness to teach.

4. This program is tough. I am in the generic program and of course it is tougher for the accelerated students. YOU NEED STUDY GROUPS. You need to read and read and read. Please solve tons and tons and tons of questions. I'm a stressed out student so I could go on and on about what I dislike but I don't want to influence you negatively lol.

I heard they will send failed email to students who did not meet the hesi requirements. does anyone know what month they do this?

I think they'll tell you in June/July. I was rejected last year because of my low HESI score. They'll send you an email. I don't remember exactly when but they sent a rejection notice saying that I needed an 800 on the CT section.

Do you think you would've gotten​ in if you did get 800 on CT?

And are you apply for this year's​ admission?

Yeah I think so. I have a 3.74 GPA, had a 91.3 Hesi and a 780 on the CT. They emailed me saying I wasn't accepted because I didn't get a 800 on the CT. They told me the GPA cutoff last year was 3.5.

Hey im a pre nursing student at lehman planning to apply for fall 2018.I still have to take my CHEM's and BIO 230.

Do you recommend any professors for CHem 114, 115 and BIO 230

I don't know about 114 and 115, but I took Smith for 230. I don't know if she's there, but she was a pretty terrible teacher in terms of teaching. I guess she's an easy grade (some people thought she was really difficult), but I don't think you'll learn much.

You could always check ratemyprofessor for stuff like this.

Did you figure out who you're taking yet? I looked at the only choice we have for a professor for Chem 114 and I'm thoroughly disappointed (based on the reviews for her on Ratemyprofessor). Anyway, does anyone know if it is mandatory to take Mat 104 or Mat 172 before you take Chem? I took Mat 132 and the advisers I spoke to never mentioned that I needed to take 104 or 172.

When do they send out the acceptance letters?

Based on past threads, I think they start sending notifications in June but it can be as late as July before some of us hear anything.
