Lehman College Fall 2017 Admissions?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Im going to be applying to Lehman's Generic BSN program for fall 2017 and I was wondering what my chances of getting accepted are. So far I have a 3.73 pre req gpa and in the process of taking microbiology and organic chemistry lab and lecture. I hope to get it to a 3.8 if I get A's for these 3 classes. As for my Hesi score, I got a 92 overall, 92 for Reading Comprehension, 94 for Math, 92 for A&P and 90 for Critical Thinking. If anyone who has previously been accepted could share their stats with me that would be great! :D Also, if you're applying for generic Fall 2017 as well you're welcome to share them too so we can see how competitive this year is! I've heard 3.5 is the cut off but I'm sure it depends on the year. Thanks everyone!

Hey, those are some really good stats! Sounds like you're on the road to acceptance, your Critical Thinking score alone should be enough to get you in haha. Here are my stats:

Pre-req GPA: 4.0 (I am now taking Organic Chemistry, my last pre-req as well as HIN 268, which isnt calculated in pre-req GPA)

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

HESI Reading: 96

HESI Math: 100

HESI A&P: 100

Critical Thinking: 870

I also heard you need at least an 800 in critical thinking, but I am not sure. I hope I do well enough in organic chemistry and maintain a GPA above 3.85. Good luck everyone!

WOW, those are impressive exam scores! If I were you I would sleep soundly, because you are as good as accepted!

@Manurse23, your grades look good enough for the Accelerated program. Are you apply for both?(Accel & Generic as a backup)

Nope @Riccbonez, I applied to the Generic program only.

Just a FYI for everyone applying: when I dropped off my application a few weeks ago, I was told I needed official paper transcripts from CUNY schools, despite what the application says. Also print out your HESI scores.

Hey guys, im currently in the program so feel free to ask me anything. :)

Hey,

you can obtain all these forms (and many others, like your clinical evaluation forms!!!) on the Lehman's nursing website. Once there, you will see to the left all the links to different subsections of the website that will contain all the forms you need.

Thank you so much!! I'll be sure to check it out!

How did you study for the prereqs to maintain a 4.0? I'm trying to improve my study habits, I really want to bring my gpa up this semester, thanks!

Hey Unique27!

How has your experience in clinicals been? The thought of clinicals terrifies me haha! What do you have to do?

Its been great so far and not terrifying at allll lol. What you do depends on your clinical professor and the hospital you go to. Just be a sponge and absorb as much as you can.

Hey SunRiseC, I dont know if there is an exact way or strategy to maintain a very high to perfect GPA, I think it gets down to how bad you want it, are you willing to study everyday and not cram for exams, do all your homework on time, focus during the lectures, take notes, put in the hours of studying everything in detail and picturing what the exams could ask. Work on memorizing everything as fast as you can, strengthen that short term memory, rely on your self, try to teach your self before asking for help, when you arrive at something by yourself (like in chemistry) you understand it and remember it much better

Hey unique, could you inform us of all the documents that must be submitted with the application form
