Labtop or ipad for nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello my fellow nursing students??? I was wondering what would be better for nursing school?? Labtop or ipad???

What kind of storage did you get? I'm hoping to get most of my books on an ipad, is that what you've done? Thanks in advance!!

I have an iPad and a laptop-- I leave the laptop at home and take my iPad everywhere. Everywhere. My notes are so much more effective as study tools now that I can easily integrate pictures into them... A few classmates have gotten one after seeing what it can do. I do still write papers on my laptop, but I really spend more time with my iPad than anything.

You don't NEED one, but it really is awfully nice to have and to use. If you already have a computer at home, I highly recommend the iPad. :)

Do you have a special app to do that?

I have a samsung tablet 10.1 I use my tablet more than my laptop this semester I had biology all terms graphs notes pics needed I had it All of my notes are on my tablet phone and laptop

I personally have an ipad and a laptop and i definitely prefer my laptop over my ipad. i use my laptop for everything and i use my ipad strictly for entertainment purposes. i truly feel like i cant function without my laptop. my ipad i can do without.

I was thinking an ipad would be better for power points etc

I absolutely love my iPad! I use it for everything, and since I begin my program this month, I've been downloading free apps (and paid apps depending on what they are) to aid in what I'll be learning. I bought the eBook for my textbook on my iPad to make for easy, portable reading when I'm on-the-go. There are countless medical apps that are amazing and free! :-) What's better is that since my printer/copier/scanner is wireless, I can print from my iPad and have it available when needed. Can't beat that! As for my laptop, I use it for writing papers and when I'm taking notes while reading. I think both are remarkable for their own reasons.

Yes-- between Evernote, skitch, and penultimate (all provided by Evernote) I'm set.

I use skitch to take photos in lab of models, and also to take pictures of useful diagrams and charts from my text. I can even annotate those pictures!! I save them and then insert them in my notes where I need them.

I use penultimate for drawing diagrams and sometimes for note taking-basically as a substitute for pen and paper.

And then the straight up Evernote. Can't rave enough about it. While taking notes, I simply hit the record button, and make sure to stop it at the end of lecture. The file is then automatically attached to my notes for that lecture. You can share your notebooks or even email individual notes to classmates who might have missed a lecture for some reason, if you're nice. :)

I also use it to organize my personal stuff. It has really made me so much more organized!!

I haven't read through all of the comments so I don't know if its been suggested yet. But for the people stating they do not like the touch screen for note taking, Apple does make an awesome wireless keyboard to go with it. Even cases that hold them together and set up like a mini laptop.

A close friend of mine just finished the program and she said she used the iPad and a MacBook. She said they were both helpful. I already have a 64 gig iPad but I am planning on getting a MacBook as well.

@ loveneverdies I love my wireless apple keyboard and taking notes with it an my iPad.

Get a laptop. You can't write care plans on an ipad. At least, I haven't been able to.
