HELP Pregnant and due during semester of A&P!!!

I know it's a long shot but has anyone been due with their baby in the middle of the semester? I'm freaking out because I am taking A&P I and I'm hoping and PRAYING I will get through! I can't afford to skip one semester bc it throws me off a whole year before applying to nursing school and since I have quit working full time for this, it will set us back ALOT financially to push it back another year. Are there any tips? Do y'all think it's doable? Please give me some hope or any insight.

I also want to ask if I should do online or face to face classes? I believe I would do much better with face to face but online may work better with my schedule.

I had people in my A&P I and II class both give birth in the middle of the semester. They worked closely with the teacher to make sure they got what they needed. I think they took about a week off and came back to school.

For science classes, I recommend face to face, but you can be successful online, too.

Thank you so much for responding! I would be way too nervous about doing a science online and I am so glad to know that those people were able to work it out. With my last pregnancy we moved during my first week home with a newborn so I keep telling myself if we could do that then a couple hours a school should not kill me. I just don't want the days I missed due to giving birth to count against me, especially since it's very important that I make an A in this class in order to get into the program.

I personally think online sciences classes were a lot easier. But definitely check with your nursing programs to make sure they accept online science classes. You don't want to spend the time, money & energy on the classes to find out the programs don't transfer.

I have seen students successfully do this. You need to talk to your professor ASAP - they will try to work with you and can give you an extension if necessary. In order to get into a good nursing school, you need A&P with a lab and so online is not a great idea for this class, but you can check directly with the nursing programs you are interested in.

I was pregnant during A&PII and I'm due towards the end of my first semester of nursing school. Do you have a good support system? I think that is the most important thing.

Congratulations! My first child was born in the middle of a semester. She came on the first day of spring break, so I had that week and then I took a week of class off. Story time was my patho notes instead of Goodnight Moon. :laugh:
