Oh my gosh, I actually got in somewhere!!! Remember when a lot of you told me that the reason I didn't get in was because it wasn't meant to be? Well, you were all right! I got accepted at Mendocino College! Their program is small (I believe they only accept 20 students) and very new! They are one of the few ADN programs that still accept students based on grades! My 4.0 GPA paid off!!!
I think I had posted a while back that I was still waiting to hear from them, but I wasn't holding my breath because preference is given to those within their district, however last week I received a letter from them stating that I was #2 on their alternate list! I still didn't want to get my hopes up because they take so few students, and I also didn't want to go public here like I did with Chabot College for fear of being "jinxed". So this past Monday the Director of Nursing called me and told me they had another person decline so I was in if I wanted it! The last 2 days I have been walking around fearing someone had played a terrible joke on me, but today my official acceptance letter came from them, so now I feel it is "safe" to post and tell everyone!
HOORAY! I start in Ukiah, CA on August 20th! I'M REALLY GONNA BE A NURSE!
