Just remember, a school commute is a prelude to your job commute. Depends on how dedicated you are when you weigh the importance of value and courtesy of attendance vs absence. Good luck.

My school is 2 hours away and my clinical sites ranged from one to two hours away. My classmates and I did it for two years!

When I start in the fall, my school will be about 45 minutes away (my front door to classroom time) so I'll probably leave an hour before just in case.

If I wasn't accepted to my local state school, my commute would've have been 30 mins. However, I'm glad I did considering the price of gas lately.

My commute is around 15 minutes. I leave an hour before my class starts to afford me time if there is traffic, accidents, construction etc. Also, street parking is minimal and it takes a while to find a spot. By the time I drive to the school, find a spot and walk to class I have around 1/2 hr before class starts. I use that time to relax, review, read or chit chat with the other early students.

I'm 15 minutes away on a perfect day, an hour and a half on a bad day. Depending on the day of the week I may add on 15 minutes to troll the lots for a legal parking spot.

my commute is about 1 hr and 10 mins one way...i started at my college in the spring of 2011 and was going on sunday's only, taking a pre-req. in the fall of 2011, i was going on monday/wednesday and this last semester i was going a full five days a week. talk about a lot of gas money! granted it takes almost 2 1/2 hrs out of my day, it is honestly good for me to have that 'quiet time'!

don't let the commute stop you! it will be worth it in the end

I opened up more options for myself when I started looking at schools a little further away. I think they may be a little less competitive too since they are all in very small counties.

If I get into the ADN program here...only a 5 minute commute. There are also 2 BSN programs I'm applying to. One is 10 minutes away, but the other is 45 min. to an hour away (depending on traffic). I'm am hoping & praying I get into the ADN program or the BSN program nearby!!!

I currently live in a big city and take the train in to work each day. Door to door, I have an hour and a half commute, so even if I end up having to go to the school further away, it won't be as bad as what I've got now. I'm moving to a new city in a few weeks to be closer to school. Can't wait!!!
