Denver School of Nursing--April 2017 Start

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I know this is early for this thread, but if you're applying for DSON's April 2017 class start then you're probably getting ready to apply about now!

It is my first time applying for nursing school! Just sent my application in. Thought my personal statement was short and sweet and to the point..Slightly terrified, but I guess that is expected. My cumulative GPA (2.7) and prereq GPA (3.2) are not very good, so I expect to either be denied admission or if I'm lucky, selected as an alternate. Only have 2 Hospice patient caretaker jobs as far as HCE but have good volunteer experiences. We'll see.

The good thing is that I plan on retaking 2 prereq courses this fall and reapplying in January for the July 2017 start if I need to. Plan on applying to my local CC as well for Spring.

What are your stats, where else might you apply and what is your overall vibe about the school?

Just wanted to update the thread. I got an email saying that I was selected for an interview. Im really excited! While I know I could still be denied admission, i'm glad that I can go ahead and plan travel expenses to head to Colorado. I'm from Mississippi.

Anyone else applying for the April 2017 cohort?

Hi, I recently applied to DSN as well. I apply for July 2017. I have not receieved an email regarding an interview yet. How long did it take you for them to respond back? I will be planning my travel expenses as well to Colorado. Im from Texas.

I graduated from DSN early this year. If you got an interview you are basically in. The interview is pretty much an orientation and you sign your letter of intent to attend. Congrats!
