Curriculum change

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone!

The pre req's for my program have changed and it includes taking this new math class that is titled as college algebra. Statistics is no longer in the pre req's. The part that is really burning me is, all the RN to BSN programs that I hope to apply to, require Statistics. Now I have to take ANOTHER math class I wasn't looking forward to. Ugh. Plus, this class won't be covered by financial aid, because my school only covers classes required to your degree. So now I am going to have to pay $467 to take statistics...

How many of y'all have had a program change on you? Did any of you approach the department and ask about a switch?

How about this: take math class you need now, and worry about statistics later?

And find a cheaper place to take it as well.

Our entire curriculum changed between sophomore and junior year. One day, during a patho lecture, all of the "powerful" members of the nursing department came and explained that everything had changed starting in the upcoming fall. The new curriculum made it so that just about everyone pursuing a minor or any studies outside of nursing requirements could not feasibly do this. People yelled and argued and cried. But I don't remember anyone switching majors or anything.
