Choosing A Nursing Program

I am a senior in high school and i plan on attending a junior college in California that has a decent nursing program. But all seem to be incredibly competitive. i really dont want to be on a waiting list for 3 years. Id love to hear success stories.

I was able to get into a competitive entry program on my first try. Another program I had applied for had a two-year plus waiting list. So my advice is to make yourself competitive.

Programs that wait-list are switching to more fair methods in droves. Don't count on waiting your turn. Earn your spot.

I am a native Californian who moved out of state and got accepted into a nursing program immediately without any waiting lists or lotteries.

If I had remained in California, I'd still probably be competing...

I'm a pre-nursing student at the University of Northern Colorado and the nursing program here is extremely competitive too. I feel like nursing is just a competitive field that most people want to enter. In all honesty though I would rather fight for my way in to this field than to have to find a new passion that allows me to benefit people the way I have strived to do for my 18 years on this earth. If you know you belong in this career field you too would fight for a place to belong.
