I am a pre-nursing student at University of Northern Colorado and I am also terrified I will not be accepted into the program. My sister went through a similar process where she failed a class and it dropped her GPA to the point where no nursing program would look at her. She had to take easy classes to bring up her GPA before applying to the nursing program.

I'm in stats at the moment and I'm glad all of our exams are on paper because that would give me a heart attack even thinking of the possibility of getting a 50%. Congratulations on your 96.8%. I hope the rest are as good as this one was.

If this was my choice I would get my RN. Being an RN involves more schooling but in the long run it would help. Registered nurses have more responsibilities than LPNs. If you had other obligations such as a family to care for, I would say get your LPN, but if you don't why not go all the way and get your RN. Also, job opportunities for an RN are more frequent because they don't have to work under other nurses. A LPN is under an RN's supervision and they have to go through the nurse above them before doing most things.

I'm a pre-nursing student at the University of Northern Colorado and the nursing program here is extremely competitive too. I feel like nursing is just a competitive field that most people want to enter. In all honesty though I would rather fight for my way in to this field than to have to find a new passion that allows me to benefit people the way I have strived to do for my 18 years on this earth. If you know you belong in this career field you too would fight for a place to belong.
