AP 1 or AP 2?

Hi there!

So I haven't taken AP since last year(august - december), and I was going to take AP 2 this fall. Well, since my school changed the point systems I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up taking AP 1 over again, as Chemistry was a hard class for me.

So my question is this, should I take AP 1 over in the Fall(I'm taking an entirely different teacher than before) to help me refresh the information I haven't touched in a year and be better prepared for her AP 2. Or, should I stick with my original plan, and just take AP 2 this fall?

Just wondering from some fresh eyes. :) I want to do my best possible, and my school just up'd the difficulty of admissions.

Thanks!

Good day, illusion9376:

If you've not had AP1 before, then take AP1 as AP2 builds upon the skills and knowledge learned in AP1.

Thank you.

I've actually already done AP 1, but last year. Basically, I'm trying to decide if I do AP 1 again, then AP 2. Or if I do AP 2, then AP 1

If you did well (A or B) in the course, and it is a year or less, then go for AP2.

Thank you.

I agree with the last post. If you did well in ap1 a year ago, then I would suggest going right into ap2. I don't think you should go back to it when you can simply review the material, your notes, & watch YouTube videos.

The only concern with that is if I don't retake ap 1, I'll most likely only get the 7 out of 8 points. If I do, I'll get 8/8 - given I end up with an A. I ended up with a B+ in ap1, and was VERY slightly off from an A-. I also have a B+ in chemistry. I'm hoping to manage with an A in ap2. But as I said, it would give me a 7/8.

Thanks guys!

Do well on whatever entrance test your school uses. That should more than make up for the one point.

Let's hope so! It's the TEAS, and I've not heard of anyone getting the 4/4 points on it. But I know I'll get the max out of my co req grade.
