Anyone here became a nurse practitioner through the direct masters program?

I need some advice/opinions on the direct masters nursing programs for non-nurses. I' currently finishing up my bachelors degree in health sciences. I go to a four year school so if you didn't major in nursing your first year then you wouldn't be able to change into the nursing major. When I started college I stuck between being a nurse Practitioner or physician assistant. I kept my options opened, and decided to major in health sciences so I can have all my pre requisites done and if I decided to go to pa school I wouldn't have majored in nursing. I also was thinking about medical school at the time anyway I didn't major in nursing. My question is has anyone gone through the direct nurse practitioner programs for non-nurses? How was your experience? How intense was the program? Why did you choose the direct msn vs an accelerated BSN? What are your opinions on this track to becoming an NP?

You might want to also post this in the Student NP forum.

There are direct entry NP programs, but you will still be required to finish your RN courses before you start your NP courses. This means, you'll have to do clinicals, pass NCLEX and obtain your RN license. I know there are a few people who post on the Student NP forum who did direct entry, so they would be able to give you a run down of their own personal experience.
