Is an ABSN program worth the debt?
Thank you! We are trying to move back closer to family on the east coast so I will look into those options but I'm really tired of living so far away from everyone. I'm just trying to see all my options and go from there.

Is an ABSN program worth the debt?
I'm a Washington state resident but there is only one Absn program here that is very difficult to get into so I need to apply out of state in order to have a good chance of getting into nursing school

Is an ABSN program worth the debt?
Im torn between doing an ABSN program or an ADN program. I have my bachelors degree and 50k in student loan debt from that degree. I am 24 years old and I plan to start having a family by the time I am 28-30. My end goal is to become an NP and work in primary care. The ABSN programs run from 60k-80k and im scared im going to put myself in alot of debt. The other option is an ADN program but i feel like it is going to take forever. It is only two years but ive already gone to college and spent 5 years doing that and i just want to become a nurse and start working. I dont want to take forever to finish school and have to put having a family on hold. If i were to start a program id be already 25 years old. Any advice?

Anyone move for an ABSN program? Is it worth it?
Hi everyone this is my current situation any advice is welcomed. I am orginally from Massachusetts and finished my bachelors degree in health science. Massachusetts has many ABSN programs that I plan on applying to. However there is a problem me and my husband moved to Washington state when he was in the military a few years ago. Washington was his last duty station and we planned on moving back to Massachusetts once he was finished. He got an amazing job offer in Seattle and we decided to stay so he could get work experience and then once I get accepted into a program we will move back. I am stressed about this process because if I do get accepted everything would have to fall into place in order for me to attend the program. Has anyone moved for an ABSN program? If so how did you do it? Did the school inform you of your acceptance ahead of time ? I am scared if my husband cant transfer his job right away where i would be able to stay? Also Washington state doesn't have many ABSN programs only UW has it. The rest of the nursing programs in Washington are ADN programs.

Do W's on your transcript affect you getting into nursing school?
Hi everyone, this is my situation with applying to nursing school this year. I graduated last year with my bachelor's degree in health science and finished with a 3.6 GPA. However, my start in college did not go well. In my first semester, I was in an abusive relationship, moved away from home for college, and was not in a good situation. I ended up withdrawing from the whole first semester of college. I then returned and did well until I withdrew from statistics two times. I retook it the third time and got an A. I finished the last two years of college strong. I didn't know what I wanted to do while I was in college until I decided to explore the idea of nursing. I did my CNA training, and that's when I discovered I wanted to do nursing. Now I am applying to nursing programs this year, and I'm retaking some prerequisites. I am applying to ABSN programs and wanted to know if these W's will affect my getting into a program. Any advice?

Feeling discouraged low grade please help
So I am 22 years and finishing my bachelors degree in Health Science. I've decided I want to go to nursing school a while back and have been doing some research. my GPA overall is a 3.7. The one thing I am very upset about is my Anatomy 1 grade. When I was taking anatomy 1 I was taking chemistry and two other classes at the same time. I got a B- and a C in lab, my professor for lab docked a lot of points on my bone and muscle exam because of spelling errors. I was so mad at the time and I wish I would of taken anatomy by itself. Anyway I have most of the pre reqs done and I am taking anatomy 2 now and I am doing better. My question is a lot of the accelerated bsn programs want grades B or better. All my other grades are good except for this class. I feel like I wont be competitive enough for the programs I want to apply to I want to retake the class but not sure when I will have the money to do so. Would it be a total waste of time to apply to accelerated bsn programs?

Anyone here became a nurse practitioner through the direct masters program?
I need some advice/opinions on the direct masters nursing programs for non-nurses. I' currently finishing up my bachelors degree in health sciences. I go to a four year school so if you didn't major in nursing your first year then you wouldn't be able to change into the nursing major. When I started college I stuck between being a nurse Practitioner or physician assistant. I kept my options opened, and decided to major in health sciences so I can have all my pre requisites done and if I decided to go to pa school I wouldn't have majored in nursing. I also was thinking about medical school at the time anyway I didn't major in nursing. My question is has anyone gone through the direct nurse practitioner programs for non-nurses? How was your experience? How intense was the program? Why did you choose the direct msn vs an accelerated BSN? What are your opinions on this track to becoming an NP?
