Any FCCJ RN Summer Start Applicants???

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone... Just seeing if there is anyone else out there applying for summer start at FCCJ? I am in micro right now. I take my NAT tomorrow and do my CPR certification on Saturday. Then plan to turn in all my paperwork on Monday.

I've been reading some old posts from past FCCJ students on here and have gotten some really good info.

What are typical class times for the weekday track and the weekend/evening track? I am not sure yet which will work better for me. At this point I just want to get in! :)

I'm pretty nervous right now. I've done really well in my classes and usually do well on standardized tests but still can't help feeling some anxiety which I'm sure is pretty common.

Anyways, I would appreciate any tips, comments, etc... Thanks!

Good luck to any other applicants out there!!

Hello everyone, I got my letter yesterday. I am so happy. Good luck to everyone and hope to see you all at orientation.

Hey, congratulations aspirantRN!!!! See you at orientation...

Congratulations! I also hope to see you at orientation :)

Congrats to you! I hope I get in for the night program in the fall, but I have several months left before I find out.....still VERY anxious though!

Hey there! I just would like to say congratulation for your acceptance. I did apply but didn't get in for I have low points. Before taking NAT test, have you studied the review exam? I took the test but didnt do well. Did you take in a comp format or pencil format? Just need some tips to do better on the next NAT test:nuke:

hey guys! im hoping to get in in FCCJ this summer too! i heard they are only taking 70 + applicants but they are taking twice more this fall. i pray that i get in. :D

Do they? How do you know that they are going to take twice this fall?

I studied the Arco Nursing & Allied Health Entrance Exams manual before taking my NAT. The good thing to remember is that the test is the same when you go to retake it... so you know the areas you need practice in :) I took the computer format of the test.

I bought one similar to yours, but it's an older version (2003?). Would that be a problem? I know what areas I need to focus on. Math and Reading are the two main things, but test timing is also another problem. Now, Im coaching my to beat the timing while doing the excercises. Actually, I'm doing pretty good so far.

Hello Hello

I'm applying for the summer term this year and I'm sooo excited...

I just wanted to say "217...Holy Crap" really though! Awesome Job...from what I'm reading you should be a shoe in!!

I have 195.52 points and I'm feeling pretty good about my chances too! I am waiting for my transcripts to be mailed to me...then I will be hand delivering my packet the next day...(hopefully this week)

Good Luck and be sure to let me know when you get your letter so we can be excited together!!

Let me know if you have any questions...I have a friend that did the RN program so I've got a good source

ignore me...I did not see the dates...

Aww, FCCJ! I was born and raised in Jax and did dual enrollment there in HS. I actually took my A&Ps online through them, too. It was a great school for me, I loved (amlost) all my teachers. Good luck to all yall!!

So...can anyone help me get to the bottom of this. I have heard from several people, including the guy in charge of open campus assessment center that some people use the computers calculator while taking the NAT. I am thinking...how unfair! I mean, doing long division by hand takes up lots of time and lots of people have a hard time finishing the math portion on time because of this. If some people use a calc, they have a crazy advantage. The guy at the testing center said they would have no way of knowing if people did use the computer calc. I am thinking...this is crazy! They should have a standard and take the calc off the computer. This is serious stuff here. Nursing school is competitive and that could make a huge difference!
