Anatomy

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am preparing for the Anatomy class I'll be taking next year, so I ordered a poster to help me memorize. I got the poster today and I am shocked, I didn't expect it to have THAT much information on it. Do they actually make you memorize EVERY little thing in the human body or do they focus on the more important stuff? TIA

Well it's impossible to know everything, but be prepared to study from the gross anatomy all the way down to the cellular level :)

Your instructor will make it clear what is expected of you once you start class. You might be able to find the course syllabus online so that you can start reading now if you wish. As a matter of commonality, most anatomy students are required to memorize the bones and muscles along with associated landmarks, etc. Would not hurt to get a general idea by looking at your text now. A good technique is to make little "stickie" covers to place over the labels on diagrams, then memorize away. My daughter's anatomy book has a multitude of these colored stickies that remain to this day. Good luck.

I'll be taking Anatomy next fall and I just downloaded an app called Anatomy study guide .. and I've been messing around looking at the muscles bones nerves and try to absorb what I can .. buying a poster is a good idea to keep it in the room lol

There is a website called purposegames.com that has some very good Anatomy quizzes.

Mr ford class on you tube was a huge help for me

You'll learn a lot of stuff so prepare for the large reading amount. Whenever you do enroll in anatomy buy the book before class starts and read the first few chapters if you can. get familiar with the body and the location of different things. There's an app for iPhone or android that specifically quizzes you on where things are and it's fun. I recommend you to get a voice recorder if you don't have one because professors will spit out so much info I don't think you can write every little thing down. Print out your ppt slides before class and write on it.
