I need help interpeting the events that occured at the end of my school admission interview and to determine if they are any indication that I got accepted. My interview overall went well, with one little rough patch in the middle. At the end of the interview, one of the faculty members stated that she was going to have to get started figuring out a good clinical site for me and proceeded to spend 2-3 minutes brainstorming with the other faculty member out loud about good placements for me. The other faculty member gave me her email address and phone number and said to contact her if I had any questions. I don't recall either of them saying, "Congrations, you are in!" or "We want to you to come to this school." I didn't have the guts to ask when I would find out.

So what do you think my chances are? I already sent out thank you notes to both faculty members for their time and interest in me. I am just really anxious to find out. One of the admisitrative staff members in the admissions office said that decisions would be sent out the end of April.

Let me say off the top I have an aggressive go-getter personality so any advice I give regarding your issue you will need to keep that in mind. ;) If I were in your shoes and given confusing information, I would use the contact information to gain clarification.

I can safely state this to be true. This past week I received a confusing rejection/acceptance letter for my Nursing program and I contacted the Director immediatley to get clarification since she put her contact information in my letter. She asked that I read the letter to her and she explained that I though I may not receive Fall admissions I have a good chance for the Spring of 07 without having to re-apply next year. So Yeah me! :biggringi

Anyway, back to you... If I was given confusing information during my interview process as you have written, I would contact the one whom gave me his/her information. I would initially state that, "I am calling to receive clarification. During the interview process the faculty were debating placement for me openly, which suggested to me that I may have been accepted but I am not sure... blah blah blah..."

Good luck.

It sounds to me like you have reason to celebrate! At least, that's how I would interpret the meeting. Sounds like you really impressed them.

Many congratulations, MBA2BRN! Which school will you be attending?

I too shared a experience similar to yours. I am currently in Iraq and when I went home for a two week leave period. During this leave period I took the Nurse Entrance Test and met with the program director. During my departure from taking the exam I was told that if I did remarkably well the I would be starting and in addition to that, I was also told that if I was extended in Iraq a spot would be held in the next class for me. Well I did great and sent an email expressing my thanks and looking forward to being a graduate from their program. After I pressed the send key I immediatly asked myself if that sounded arrogant. I havent head anything from the school and or instructor and asked my wife to assist me in locating additional schools. So I do understand exactly what you are saying.

Oh yeah, I am currently awaiting acceptance letters from the other schools as well. But I will not call or email until asked formally to attend.

Good Luck!!

Realistically, what it means is the interview is over and now you need to wait till you get the official word. Just because 1 of them liked you does not necessarily mean the other one did.Just continue to hope for the best, and hopefully your acceptance letter will show up soon.CT

Thank you everyone for you input regarding this interveiw. Most people agree that this is a promising turn of events, but I don't want to set myself up for major disappointment. Like I said before, I had sent off thank you emails and thank you cards and will probably just have to wait to hear from the school. According to one of the directors, accepted students usually recieve a phone call, instead of a letter, so if I don't recieve a call in a week, I will be sure to send off a follow up inquiry. Thank you all again.
