Yay technology! We take our exams in the computer lab and for the multiple choice portion the computer scores it for us immediately. So, I already know I got an A on that part of my first exam. I missed 3 questions, don't know which ones yet though. There were 5/50 I wasn't sure of, and some were very odd questions - there were a couple of typos, for example. Would someone tell me if I'm stupid? Isn't hydrolysis a type of decomposition reaction where water is added? Something like

    ABCD + H2O >> H-AB + CD-OH

This wasn't an answer on our exam. He offered two choices with synthesis (combining two molecules with addition/removal of water) and then he typed the same choice for both b and d: Breaking apart a molecule through the removal of a water molecule. I raised my hand and asked, buthe refused to answer any questions about the test questions during the exam. If I'm having a serious brain fart, someone please let me know. Thanks!
I would agree Hydrolosis is breaking with Water but not knowing what the other choices are its hard to say if its right or not maybe there was a better choice? I took a chem test last week where ever answer on multiple choice were correct but there was one that was better then the rest I hate tests like that so hard. I have heard though the NCLEX is similar to that though so good practice?

I don't even know if I picked the wrong answer on that Q or not yet. I'm going to try to review my exam with a TA next week, just so I don't make any same mistakes on the final. Then I can ask her about that question in particular.

Yeah, we're using Marieb as well....I like their online offerings....but wished they had a real e-book, not just an online version.

    Peace,

Whew. We did the parts of the skull tonight. Now this class is getting hard...

We had our first lecture exam today too. It was easy! I think I only missed 1 or 2 questions...but who knows. He made it out to be really hard too! He asked a question about the G1, S, and G2 phases of interphase and I forgot to study that. Oops.

oh man that stinks I can't believe they make you buy it in order to check out the site, ours is free and so many helpful useful tools. I have lots of links to other books or schools I use to help study. Having it explained in a few different ways really helps.

We began Tissues in lecture this morning, and Bones in lab this afternoon..I'm hoping to start fresh in lecture now as my last 2 quizzes have not been up to par! I'm going to change the way that I am taking notes and studying, and see if it helps. Lab quiz today was over epithelial and connective and the quadrants, did okay, I think..Hope everyone is doing good!!

We got our first lab quiz back last night. I got an 11.5 out of 10 I missed a half a point because I called the "rotating nose piece" the "rotating disk." oops. Darn microscope identification!
