UCSF MEPN Applicants for 2010 entry

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I thought I would start a new thread. I've read quite a bit of the activity from previous classes and I thought it would be great to get a community of support started for those who have applied for UCSF's MEPN program... not just for us now, but for the future applicants who will read our posts! (: (the added bonus is this thread will be in gender neutral territory ;)

Would love to hear the stories of folks who are applying to nursing programs (UCSF and otherwise).

Thanks!

Did you hear that somewhere?? I know someone currently in the program and she heard on December 22nd that she got an interview. The applications were due a month earlier this year, but I don't know if that is going to translate into finding out any earlier or not. I think that the earlier deadline was most likely in anticipation of more applicants :( Keep us updated if anyone hears anything!

Thanks for the kind words/cyber support, psitsrachel. I hope your Yale app is okay too. I sent an email & left a vmail last Friday w/ UCSF. No word yet. I will go to their office within the next week. Too busy right now w/ finals, work, and moving into a new apt. Good luck to everyone still in the running...

Has anyone recieved an interview invitation letter? The suspense is killing me!!

Not yet!! Some people I know who applied last year didn't find out about interviews until late december...around the 22nd! I hope we don't have to wait that long! :)

@ xtine009, so sorry to hear about that! I would definitely pursue it if you never received any notice that docs were missing.

Hang in there everyone....we are almost there. I'm obsessively running home to check my mail every day, and still nothing. Good luck everyone!

I got "a letter" at my permanent address from UCSF school of nursing today. My parents told me about it and my heart skipped a beat. No Idea what it is but my dad described it as looking like "nothing special" lol so I am kind of pessimistic. Anyway just thought I'd throw that out there and see if anyone is getting letters yet. It could just be saying they didnt get this or that for my application. My mom is coming down here to L.A. tomorrow anyway so Im just gonna get it from her. Fingers crossed. Good luck everyone.

Good luck Sandman2855! I live in the LA area too...and didn't get anything in the mail today. I will definitely be stalking my postman tomorrow. The wait is killing me. I got an email from Yale last Friday saying they were hoping to have interview decisions out this week, so I am expecting that one any day now, too.

Good luck everyone!

Hey Everyone!!! I got a letter today from UCSF (also in a nothing-special kind of envelope).... and I GOT AN INTERVIEW for the pediatrics track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yeah: The letter arrived to my mom's house in Marin county, and she read it to me over the phone... that was about 45 minutes ago and I am still shaking/jumping around like a mad woman!!

My was postmarked the 9th of December, so hopefully everyone's will get delivered soon! I wish you all the best of luck, and I look forward to hearing about other responses!!

PS. don't get discouraged if you see a thin envelope, my mom said it was a standard envelope with just one page inside!

Mpcali you gave me hope (and I couldn't sit still) so I called my parents and asked my mom to read me the letter over the phone. I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!! Critical Care/Trauma. I wasnt even gonna apply to UCSF because I thought I didnt have a chance! Its not an acceptance but its a HUGE confidence builder just to get an interview! Good luck everyone and check those mailboxes. Time to start stressing about the interview lol.

Specializes in future FNP!.

ahhh! reading these this morning made me so nervous/anxious!!! but there was nothing in the mail for me today :( granted i live in boston so its probably still on its way. hopefully monday!

What a brutally exciting process this is!!! Just heard from UCSF and JHSON last night: Yay for interviews! Being that much closer is really amping up my anxiety! Good thoughts and fingers crossed for everyone waiting to hear.

I also got an interview! I applied to the Adult Nurse Practitioner track.

When I saw the thin envelope my heart sunk..but when I read the word "Congratulations" I immediately started jumping around and screaming. I feel so blessed.

As a side note, this is the second time I applied to the program. For those of you who don't get in the first time around, reapply. I'm totally amazed that my luck changed this time around. Also, I live in San Francisco, so if you haven't received something yet and you're checking the allnurses board as compulsively as I do and feeling discouraged because you haven't received anything, you may not hear anything until Monday or Tuesday, depending on where you live.

I look forward to meeting you all at the interview day!

Good luck to you all.
