HELP please!!! admissions decsion!
Thanks for your insights, I really appreciate them. I still haven't made a choice (I've been wavering all night). Although both schools are excellent, University B is ranked substantially higher and is associated with nationally recognized hospitals. I am not sure how much this will matter, seeing as though I don't really see my self building my career in either city. I think University B is more recognized nationally, and will have better networking opportunities. My friends in graduate programs in other fields keep on stressing the importance of internship/clinical placements and networking. How important do you think this is in nursing?

HELP please!!! admissions decsion!
I will try to make this as succinct as possible, but basically I need some help with my admissions decision...and QUICKLY!!! I was admitted to University A for their direct entry program to start this summer, and have sent in a non-refundable deposit. I will be moving out of state to attend, but have previously lived in the city and have friends, connections, etc. Cost of attendance is significantly cheaper and I anticipate living expenses will be low. The catch is that University A doesn't offer the FNP specialty that I want and I will have to chose a different N.P. specialty. I would probably choose adult or pediatric NP specialty. Today, I received notice that I have been admitted to University B and they are requiring a non-refundable deposit by tomorrow. Attending University B means I will be moving out of state to a city I have never before lived in/visited. Cost of attendance is significantly higher (approx. $60K) and I have no idea about cost of living although I expect it to be higher. University B offers the FNP specialty I want and I will receive a BSN and an MSN upon graduation (University A offers only MSN). University B is attractive because I would receive a BSN, and I would be able to specialize as a FNP. I guess I am torn as to whether that is really worth the huge difference in tuition. I also know that I could probably do a post-cert in family if I go to University A, but that will be an extra year of schooling. Any insights are greatly appreciated!

Marquette - Direct Entry Master's??
Hi all, just wondering if any other 2010 applicants are still waiting to hear from Marquette? From there original email, I understand that they admit in waves. At this point do we know if there are on to the 2nd or 3rd wave? I've been wait listed at 2 other programs and am getting pretty anxious! Thanks

Marquette - Direct Entry Master's??
Congrats j39knickrest! I haven't heard from Marquette yet, but I wanted to speak to your original question about moving. I am also in California and will likely be moving very close to the program start date if I get in. I lived in Milwaukee last year so I am not too worried about the quick turn around. Obviously I don't know about your prior experience in Wisconsin, but if you have any questions about moving from CA I would love to offer you some of my insights. Just wondering if anyone else has heard from Marquette. I know they sent out that email saying to expect news around March 1st, I am anxiously awaiting any news.

Emory Accelerated BSN/MSN Program (Summer 2010) - Anyone Else Accepted?
Hi just wondering when deposits are due? I was accepted onto the wait list and would really like a rough estimate of when I can hope to hear some news. (I emailed Emory directly, but haven't heard back yet.) I am anticipating it will be a really quick turn around for me if I end up going to Emory including moving from CA. Eeek! Thanks!

Emory Accelerated BSN/MSN Program (Summer 2010) - Anyone Else Accepted?
Thanks for the info, I submitted my application on Jan. 13th and have yet to hear anything back. I know one of my transcripts wasn't received until late January, but I hope that doesn't totally undermine my application. (I had spoken to one of the admissions staff about it and sent in an unofficial copy)...I guess I'll just have to keep waiting

Seattle U APNI - 2010 Entry
First, good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews! I have a random question: Do any of you know if an interview is mandatory for admission into the program? Since I have yet to receive an interview invitation or rejection from Seattle University, I re-read the application instructions. The only thing it says is: "6. Interview with program director or other Admission Committee member if requested." I guess I am just really holding on to any shreds of hope that I might get into the program. Any thoughts?

Boston College Masters Entry Program 2010
Congrats to everyone else that has heard...i am just speculating, but maybe they are admitting people in rounds. Especially since you need to turn in a deposit so soon. From what I understand about Marquette, they admit people in rounds, round 1 is acceptances, rounds 2 and 3 is a mix of acceptances, rejections and wait lists. Maybe BC does something similar? Or maybe not....I am not giving up hope. :) good luck to everyone else who is still anxiously waiting.
