Mine also say "not available" and I sent mine in July, so I 'm sure they received them. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet! In fact, I think i remember seeing them marked as received at one point in the app process, which is a little strange, but it probably just means they're going through each applicants file and double checking everything. On another note, I was thinking about the earlier submission date this year and wondering if it's just to give them more time, or because they anticipated receiving more apps? Or MAYBE, just maybe, it's so they can give us a response a little earlier?? That's probably not it, but a girl can dream, right??

I had that same dream - then I loked at their timeline and saw that it had not changed! So sad.

Yea, I wouldn't worry too much about it. A lot of people seem to be in the same situation. I'm just the odd one out!

Hey all, I am a current MEPN, and half of the references on my application status said "not available" throughout the whole process....even after I was accepted. So don't worry too much about it Good luck!

Hey, fellow MEPN hopefuls.

Has anyone heard the low down on whether or not we'll hear from admissions earlier than December this year? It's not even October yet and I'm already twitching with anxiety! I know the website says December but it's hard to believe that the notification process didn't change along with the submission deadline...Hmmmm.

Good luck!

Hello,

Just wanted to say thanks to all that have posted their MEPN application process experience. It has given me many valuable insights! I am planning on applying to UCSF MEPN for 2011, but have been really stressing out over it. If any current applicants or current MEPN students can give me some direction/advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's some background information about me.

I will be graduating with my Master degree in Social Work: Mental health and Medical Social Work, current grad GPA 3.8, and undergrad GPA 3.8 in Business Administration: Human Resource. I am bilingual-a Southeast Asian dialect. I am also the first-generation college gradute, and soon-to-be advance degree graduate. I am currently interning at a community health center, working in behavioral health doing counseling session, crisis interventions, and coordination of patient health-care with the primary-care providers in a rural area with underserved/vulnerable population. I have also volunteer at a hospital at their family practice clinic. I am not trying to boost myself, but would like some advice on how I can strengthen my application. I am stressing over whether I will be competitive enough to get into the program. I have taken statistic and got an A, and will be taking the science pre-req classes this spring, and am not so worry about that. I am more stressed over the GRE, since English is my second language, I am not sure I will do well on that. If anyone can give me any suggestions or any tip on writing a stellar personal statement, it would be great!

Hi foreveryoung. I applied to 2010 MEPN CNS critical care/trauma.. You sound like an excellent candidate! I really don't see any weaknesses for you. Just make sure you do well in your pre-reqs. I wouldn't worry too much about the GRE, especially given that English is not your first language. Just score above 500 at least and do well on math. Your experience is good, GPA great. As far as the essay, they seem to place a lot of importance on making sure that your experience and stated goals match up well with the track you are applying to. Use your essay to really clarify why you are choosing that particular MEPN track and how your experience, skills, goals etc. all match up well with it. It sounds like you have a great chance at getting in!

hi all,

I've been reading most of the UCSF posts for a while now and figured I should finally post something (if anything to release some of my post-application angst). I applied for the FNP track and can't believe we still have a month to wait before interview decisions are being sent out.

I've finally finished up all of my other applications, so now I have nothing to distract me from the wait.

I have been avoiding this site since initially posting... everyone's enthusiasm is catching, and I am trying to avoid investing in it and experiencing a possible heartbreak if I don't get in (I should say, if I don't get in this year .

I have also applied to JHU and Yale, the only other schools where prereqs were at a minimum (I'm still finishing them up).

I am interested in oncology, but really appreciate that JHU allows for a bit of flexibility should the student learn half way into their RN/BS year that they've discovered they are particularly good at, passionate about another area.

I'm in the Bay Area, so UCSF is my first choice, but with acceptance rates so low, and the applicant pool so strong, I'd be willing to move to nowhereville at this point.

(:

How is everyone else managing the stress of it all?
