I am applying to the AGMSN program for Fall 2014. I have not seen much activity of the boards about this program. If anyone is an alumni/a, presently a student , or even applying could you write your comment below. I am very serious about attending this program if I get in. However, I would be leaving my home in NYC to do so so any comment would be appreciated.

Also if you are in the program or graduated could you just list your stats as well please ( like prereq grades). Thanks

I am in the SLU AGNP program. I am scheduled to graduate Dec 2014. I am in my first round of clinicals now and I love it. I live in ME so all my courses have been on live except the clinical component. There's really no need to leave NY. I maintain A's and high B's. The professors are easy to talk to and respond quickly to emails. I am really happy I chose this school. I had a friend graduate from USA and had an awful last semester. More than 40% failed the last course.

Thank you for the comment however I applied to a different program. The AGMSN program is a direct entry to practice degree. Students in the program do not have a RN license ( or BSN) only non-nursing BS/BA degrees. The program is 5 semesters long and at the end the graduate earns a MSN and can take the CNL exam. Basically graduates are just advanced generalists since that is what the CNL is.

Hello,

I am interested in AGMSN program at SLU and was wondering if you could provide me some feedback and answer my questions. Please call me at 314-3637691. I would truly appreciate it.

thanks

Message me your questions and I will do my best to answer them. My schedule now is hectic as its the end of the semester and finals are coming up. I'm usually available late at night once my kids are in bed or early in the morning so messaging works best for me. I love the program so far though. I think the clinicals make it feel more real. The core courses are tough and time consuming but all make sense once you get to clinical.

SO what will you do after graduation?? Work as a nurse manager?

Sorry for the delay. I plan on working as a bedside nurse after graduation. After a year experience, I want to go get my post-masters and become an NP in adult acute care.

Hello all,

I am attending the program this fall and wanted to know if there is an active page for the upcoming Fall class for the AGMSN program. It will be nice to connect with people who are in the program or will be attending. Any information you have is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi. I have an MSN from SLU. I graduated in 2010. I love the school. I cannot comment specifically on the accelerated entry level MSN, but Chris L'ecuyer who I believe heads the program was my physiology professor. She is excellent. I had many years of experience when I attended, but had been out of school for 20 years. My program was online, the communication was great, especially compared to others I know who go online elsewhere. I am going for a post MSN now at another university and miss SLU. It is a high quality school.

Hi arthurfamily,

There is not a page that I know of.

Are you doing anything to get ready for classes? I am going to start just going over AP because I took the class almost four years ago.

Hi Imenid37,

Thanks for responding to my post. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience at SLU. I applied to the program because of their solid reputation also. I hope that I will have the same experience.

Regards,

Hello AccelCNL2B16

Thanks for responding to my post. I have not done anything in particular for the classes but since you mentioned this, I think that I am going to start looking through old notes for AP and microbiology also.

From what I have read, the program is very fast paced since it is accelerated. Lately, I have been doing a little research on the CNL role and it appears that VA hospital will have a lot of openings for this role. Also, I apologize that I was not able to respond to your message. I am not an upgraded member yet so I can not reply to private messages yet. Have you visited or moved to the city already?
