Philadelphia Part Time Programs

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Looks like a part time program in Philadelphia is a dying breed. Holy Family University no longer has a part time program now just like the other schools in the area. I guess you can't work and go to school to try and better yourself in life. How does one not work and go to school full time and are able to live? Anyone want to fill me in. I am getting a little frustrated now. I have two kids one in college one in catholic high school a mortgage, utilities, car insurance and bills and couldn't even think of not working a full time job. I guess completing the prerequisites required for nursing school (AP 1 and 2, Microbiology, English 1 and 2, Diet and Nutrition, Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Chemistry) was a waste of time. :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire

good luck in finding a program that fits you.

Hey, I went to Harcum's part-time program. It was doable and I had a fulltime job, but I didn't have children either. The clinicals are weekends, basically all day. They have a program starting in May, try and see if they have some more openings. It wouldn't hurt.

Also, I think Widener University (in chester) gives u a part-time or night/weekend option..

I'm in the La Salle Achieve program. I work full time. Classes at night and clinicals on the weekend. It is crazy busy, but doable. I also do not have children so it's been easier for me inthat sense, but tehre are plenty of people that have kids in the program. Part Time is hard, but i just remind myself that it is only temporary.

Neumann College has a part time evening program too.

For Harcum's evening program, what days/times are the classes and clinicals?

For Harcums evening program, the classes are tues and thurs 5pm or 6pm-10pm and clinicals are weekends 7-4. You do have a christmas break.

Clinicals are every weekend, correct? Did you like their program? Where were your clinicals at?

I think Gwynedd Mercy has a PT option, not sure how far of a commute that it though.

If you complete all of your prereqs and go to CCP, you're only carrying 7 or 8 credits. They're a day program, but you might be able to work during the program if your job has flexible hours.

I have been accepted at Harcum and am wondering how you found the program? The 1st time pass rate isn't as high as some others that I've been accepted to and I'm a little worried about that. Any info. you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Neumann College has a part time evening program too.

Neuman University is a private college = expensive tuition.

If you are young... go for the debt.

If you are older.... think twice about the debt.
