OHSU ABSN to MN in Nurse-Midwifery 2014

U.S.A. Oregon

I haven't seen a thread for this years application cycle, so here goes! It sounds like we should get interview invites soon (seeing as how the interviews are in just a few weeks). I called admissions the other day and they said the applications had just recently been sent out for faculty review, so it will probably be a bit until the invites go out. Anxiously waiting!

Thanks for starting a thread. I got the call to schedule an interview on Wednesday. I'm beyond excited, as I've been working toward getting into this program for 2 years. Have you heard anything yet?

Right there with you Crudy! Hoping to hear good news next week:) Congrats and good luck on the interview Lcrown!

Oh, yay! A group! Two of us started a Facebook group for applicants so we can keep the discussion more private. Head on over there if you want to join!

What specialty did you apply for? I'm dying to hear something... anything. I applied for midwifery.

Orrrrr... I could just read the title of the thread and realize we're all here for midwifery. I'm tired. Forgive the fried brain.

Congratulations on the interview, LCrown! That is amazing! I still haven't heard anything, but it's good to know they are starting to call people. It's pretty rough that we don't hear anything if we don't get an interview, though, so we're kind of left hanging. Sigh. Anyway, yes, hoping for good news next week!

Hello Everyone! Very excited this thread was started. I received a call last Wednesday about an interview. Mine is Thurs Feb 6th. I'm really excited about the potluck that night. I'm curious what it will be like to interact with the faculty in a more informal setting. Also I spoke with ------------------(the person arranging all the interviews) and she said they are only 30 min long! Seems like such a short time to distinguish yourself as an applicant. Also totally random, but is anyone here familiar with Portland? I'm trying to determine what the rush hour traffic is like in the morning as I have an early flight that Friday back to Boston.

So it's sounding more and more like all the interviews were scheduled last Wednesday... that's a bummer.

Congrats Lizbit! I live in portland. What part are you staying in, what time is your flight, and how do you plan on getting there? I've talked to a few people who've been through the process and it sounded more like the dinner was a time to get to know the other applicants (I'm going to the one on the 23rd).

Hi Lcrown. I'm not sure yet exactly where I'll be staying. I've been mostly looking at hotels downtown that are closer to the school. But after looking online at traffic patterns I'm thinking it would be better to stay at a hotel on the other side of the river to avoid any bridge traffic in the morning commute. I have a 9:25am flight out of the airport Friday morning. Google maps has me taking I-5 for a short time and then getting onto I-85. Another route says to take I-5 for a short time then get onto NE Sand Blvd. Anyone else interviewing over Feb 6th and 7th?

I just got a call to schedule my interview for Feb. 6! I had pretty much given up hope, but I guess they are still making the calls!
