OHSU ABSN to MN in Nurse-Midwifery 2014

Published

I haven't seen a thread for this years application cycle, so here goes! It sounds like we should get interview invites soon (seeing as how the interviews are in just a few weeks). I called admissions the other day and they said the applications had just recently been sent out for faculty review, so it will probably be a bit until the invites go out. Anxiously waiting!

My interview is actually on this coming Thursday, so some are still going on. I am extremely nervous:nailbiting:. Did they let you know when exactly the final decisions would be made? Or was it the vague few weeks? Sorry to hear about your interview turning into a phone interview due to the snow.

Mine is next Thursday too. When did they notify you? I didn't find out until last Wed. and I'd all but given up hope.

I was also notified last Wednesday:)

Hey so I'm not sure then when they'll be notifying people. They said they would be wrapping things up at the end of this week and then within a couple of weeks they'd have decisions. Though I'm not sure if anyone here has gone through last year's thread but it seemed like there were people who had interviews even after the time they said decisions would be out. So I'd say it's not totally set in stone.

Does anyone know for FAFSA purposes if the first year of this program is considered "5th year undergraduate" and "second bachelor's degree"? I called the Fin Aid office but they are closed because of the snow storm so I wasn't able to ask anyone.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I spoke with Fin Aid today and was told the following: 1) yes we are considered 5th year undergraduate/other undergraduate (for the grade level) and we are pursuing a second bachelor's degree AND 2) we do not need to provide any parental information (if we are independent). I had asked them this because for some schools they are considered a participating institution for certain health professions loans that require parental information even if you are independent. Thought I'd pass it along!

I just had my interview today, they said we could expect to hear back "early march". I love vague statements.... Said no grad nursing hopeful ever!

I called the admissions office just now (since I have a deposit deadline coming up soon for another program) and they said people who interviewed for midwifery should hear by the end of next week! Wooo!

Axos, when you called admissions did they say how they would be notifying us (email, phone, snail mail, etc)?

Thanks for calling admissions and for sharing what they told you!

They didn't specify, but I know people heard by phone first last year!

I applied for the 2013 application cycle. While people who were accepted in the first wave were called as early as the last week of February, those of us who were rejected (not waitlisted - I don't know about that) had to wait until the end of the first week of March (I think I found out around March 11th) via snail mail letter. It was excruciating to call admissions by March 1st and be told that "not all of the letters had been sent out yet", but knowing that some people had already been accepted. I am so much hoping this year that, no matter the format, no one is made to wait that long!

Anyone hear anything?
