UTMB Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I cannot believe it's actually time for me to apply to nursing school. It seems like I've been working on my pre-reqs forever now and it's finally here. I didn't see any utmb 2017 fall hopefuls yet so I thought I'd create a thread. I'm having one heck of a time with the application process. I'm taking my teas next Wednesday and submitting my application after that. Has anyone sent in their transcripts through nursingCAS yet? Anyone have any pre-reqs they still need to complete? I have one last semester to finish. Good luck to everyone applying this semester!

Definitely no physics on the teas. No worries!

I'm taking it in 1 week ! I'm a bit overwhelmed since there will be physics on the teas and I've never taken physics before. Also I hear it's harder than the HESI haha ! Writing a personal statement about myself is actually really hard. I hear it makes or breaks you.

I've taken a proctored HESI and a couple of practice TEAS. I think the HESI is a lot easier-especially the math and English sections.

Hello everyone!

Also applying for UTMB and would be commuting from south of Houston (about 20 miles south).

I see everyone is starting their applications, even if they have a few things pending.

Since I was on the late train financially, I just scheduled my TEAS and the soonest I could find was January 10th. I feel like this is cutting it super close.

Should I submit my application now, and then just send in my TEAS scores once I take it?

Worried I am going to completely miss it! :(

Personally, I would finish every part of the nursingcas application and upload your scores right after you take the teas. That's what I'm doing. I've sent in my transcripts to nursingcas already, so the last part I need to do is upload the teas score. I took the teas a few weeks ago and only made an 80, so I'm retaking it in a few days. The last time I took it in houston it took 48 hours before I got the results. As long as the application is submitted by the 15th, we're good. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the information Cam. I am going to start on my application tonight then, and just include the TEAS scores when I take it on the 10th.

I hope you the best with your retake! For UTH I took my HESI twice to improve the score, so I understand the stress.

I have one more question, so now I am doing the application and I got to the part where I input TEAS scores.

There are 3 scenarios:

1. Should I submit the ncas now, and if able, go back and add the TEAS document once I complete it.

2. If I submit the ncas without, do I send the TEAS scores directly to UTMB?

3. Should I leave my application pending until I take my TEAS January 10th, then add the scores and submit?

This is just a bit confusing the order of which I should do this.

I messed up and didn't send that transcript request form to NCAS with my transcript. Now I have to wait until the office reopens on the 2nd to resend my transcripts for verification. Hopefully NCAS receives it and verify my transcript before the deadline.

I honestly don't know these answers. If you email Mrs Elizabeth botello, she can tell you the answers. I emailed her a question about the teas test and she got back with me within 24hrs! She's very helpful. Also, nursingcas hasn't verified my transcripts yet and they received them back in November. Are they supposed to be verified before the application deadline?

Thank you I am going to email her now. This personal statement is no joke!

I'm not certain about the transcript.

This scares me lol my teas is January 12. I know I'm cutting it REALLY close , but the teas is all I'm missing before sending my application. If you say 48 hours I wonder if my scores will show up on that Saturday !! The deadline for applications is the Sunday right after >.

You'll see your score immediately, but it takes 48 hours to be sent to the school. They may have some agreement with receiving the scores sooner during deadline periods.

I finished my personal statement last night, with 7 words to spare, but I must say that was the most difficult thing ever!

When I took my teas, I didn't get my results at all until 48 hours. It was the longest wait! The drive back to my house was miserable. I thought they would be able to print my scores at the testing center but they didnt. I had to wait for the email from ATI.
