URI RN to BSN Online Program Info - Anyone?

Hello all! I applied to the URI RN to BSN Online Program this week. I am waiting for my transcripts to be sent to URI and hoping for the best. I received my ADN from CCRI and had begun the Salve Regina RN to BSN program many moons ago, but ended up moving out of state and without an online program, I could not finish. Have any of you started the URI program? I'm curious how everyone is doing and how they like the program so far. I also noticed there is a new general education criteria list that began this Summer. Does anybody have any info on this? Thanks for any and all input! ?

Sorry to see you didn't get any replies! I am finishing up my ADN this spring and am considering continuing on with URI's RN-BSN. Do you have any opinion thus far?

There is some info about the URI program on there. I am in my third session and taking my 4th and 5th courses out of 10 total needed. The program is set up well, but I would caution taking more than one course at a time. I took two courses the first session and it left very little time for anything else. The second session I took one course and it was less hectic. I am now taking two courses again and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Some of that is my own fault since I expect to earn an A in each course and put a lot of effort into each course. These courses are accelerated, so lots to do in a short amount of time. You may find it an easier transition since you will be starting directly out of the ADN program. Congrats on graduating this spring and best of luck!

Best of luck to you! I graduated in 2017 and even though the program was challenging, it feels great to have earned my BSN. :happy: There is a student Facebook group page with lots of helpful tips/support. Check it out if you have not joined the group already... URI RN to BS online

Hi! Late to the forum but I was browsing RN-BSN options and I just wanted to say my experience with URI has been pretty bad. They dropped the ball with my admission, didn't take a majority of my transfer credits from CCRI even though they were both in the same system, never returned emails, would call me twice a day while I was sleeping (I work nights) after I asked them not to call. I'm two weeks into my first session and I've decided to go to a different program. The nail in the coffin was when my "tutor" took a week to message me back after I asked for help with my paper.

I am sorry to hear this. I had one tutor issue... sounds the same actually but other than that, overall I have had a good experience at URI. If you don't mind me asking, how many credits did they allow you?

Hi, they only took 75, leaving me with 15 classes to take to finish the program. I ended up doing the Chamberlain program and I only had to do 9 classes.

Oh yes, same here. They only take 75 credits when it comes to an Associates. They will take another 15 credits when having a bachelors. I was bummed about that too

I just went off what my coworkers said, it doesn't really matter where you get your BSN as long as you do. I'd rather 1 year than 2 years of classes lol. But it's definitely about what program suits your individual needs.

I CAN SAY THIS. Go anywhere other than URI for your RN-BSN. Trust me.
