  1. Hi everyone, I'd like some help or advice. I am a new grad nurse and I'm in my 6th week of orientation on a cardiac/med-surg unit and I really don't care for it at all. I feel like I'm doing ok and not having any real issues aside from what I'd imagine other new nurses experience. I've worked at this hospital for about 2 years, first as an aid, now as an RN. I knew the unit I was going to work on as an RN was poorly staffed and had a lot of demanding patients but I took the position anyway because it had a good schedule that matched my needs. My preceptor has been nothing but kind and helpful to me and the person supervising my orientation has been fantastic. I feel like all through nursing school everyone said get your med-surg experience over and over again, but even before I took the position I looked at other outpatient jobs as I feel like those would better suit what I want. I'm about halfway through orientation and I already know I don't like the job and want to leave... Have any of you found yourselves in similar situations and what'd you do to handle it?
  2. I just went off what my coworkers said, it doesn't really matter where you get your BSN as long as you do. I'd rather 1 year than 2 years of classes lol. But it's definitely about what program suits your individual needs.
  3. Hi, they only took 75, leaving me with 15 classes to take to finish the program. I ended up doing the Chamberlain program and I only had to do 9 classes.
  4. Hi! Late to the forum but I was browsing RN-BSN options and I just wanted to say my experience with URI has been pretty bad. They dropped the ball with my admission, didn't take a majority of my transfer credits from CCRI even though they were both in the same system, never returned emails, would call me twice a day while I was sleeping (I work nights) after I asked them not to call. I'm two weeks into my first session and I've decided to go to a different program. The nail in the coffin was when my "tutor" took a week to message me back after I asked for help with my paper.

  7. Hi if anyone else gets anything about orientation let me know! I haven't gotten anything and since it's next week I feel like they're really leaving it until the last minute.
  8. Warwick days. I really want some people to just share their experiences.
  9. Hi everyone! I recently got into the CCRI nursing program and I'm starting this coming spring. I just thought it'd be a good idea to ask what people who are already in the CCRI program think of it. What do you think about the instructors, clinical locations, schedules, etc.? I'm looking forward to starting and I just want to get an idea of what people have experienced. Thanks for any replies I appreciate it
  10. Congratulations to everyone who got in! I can't wait to see you guys at orientation!

  12. Got my email! Warwick days!!! Good luck guys!
  13. 100% on the same page as you blynnn. Anything today that isn't an email from admissions is nowhere near being a priority today.
  14. Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed!
  15. I know for a fact that the night program usually has the highest scores out of all the options. I don't know if there are usually fewer applicants in August though.
