Hey guys,

I started this thread in hopes of connecting with people who applied for the Traditional Nursing program at NVCC. I have been corresponding with them via e-mail and am anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. Hope everyone else submitted their applications without issue! Maybe we can cheer each other on :)

Hi Alison,

I am in the process of applying for the Spring 2015 nursing class. I noticed your post and saw that a quite of you were accepted for this fall. First off congratulations! I am very nervous about getting in. My GPA is a 3.7. However I have to retake the TEAS. I did not do too well the first time. :( Do you know of anyone that had to take it more than once and was accepted? Any information would be very helpful!

I had to retake the math portion of the teas. I studied Keshwani videos on YouTube and got almost a perfect score the second time around. Best of luck! You can do it! And you have plenty of time to study.

Thank you so much!!!!! I am going to a tutor because I really do not understand where I went wrong. I improved on the areas I had trouble in. However, the areas I did well in on the practice assessment I did not do well. In the math, majority of the questions I was able to figure the answer. I am so confused!!! I will start reviewing the videos today!

I am sorry to be a bother, was there a lot of students selected for your class? How are the classes this semester?

You're welcome! The MEC also has TEAS prep classes for reading, English, and math. They're $200 each though. I did the math and English (they were pretty helpful). I think they're through continuing edu or workforce development. From what I hear most students who applied got in. Take your time with the TEAS. If you aren't ready, don't waste one of your three tries. I've heard of people having to wait to apply because they didn't pass the teas right away, but they're in the program now. It is well worth the wait. The program is not as intense as I expected. It's definitely manageable. If you're on top of everything and try you will be just fine.
