Hi...

I wanted to start a thread for any lurkers out there like myself :) For the past 2 years I have watched each years applicants to see how competitive the year will be. I think this year will be the MOST competitive :( I am finishing my last pre-requisite and applying this May. I am taking my TEAS in April and super nervous. Curious where everyone's points are!!!! Good luck to us all!

Hello,

I am about to finish my second semester of nursing at MJC. Our cohort was the first cohort since they implemented the scoring system where every student basically had straight A's before applying. Lowest score accepted to MJC was 72. I'm willing to bet if you have anything 74 or above then you will not have any issues getting in.

Thank you for that feedback!! I'm shooting dor 74 as my minimum but we will see :/

Greetings All,

I will be applying with 61 pts pre-TEAS. I took the TEAS V last year and received a 90%. If I get the same score this time around with the TEAS VI I will have 76 pts total for my application. Thanks for the inside info Quicksilver. It makes me nervous that the minimum points to get in has raised each year, I hope it doesn't get much higher than 74 this year. Im scheduled for my 1st attempt of the TEAS VI on the 21st in the afternoon. Ill try to post how it went after I take it. Looking forward to hearing where others are at! Good luck everyone! Hope to see you all in class!

Just a question. Modesto is requiring that you retake the new version of the teas correct? I applied 3 years and was asked to prove supporting documents last year but I wasn't accepted.

Yes. You have to take TEAS 6 to apply this year.

I sat down with the Allied Counselor at MJC. It is getting competitive for sure. Do your best to achieve as many additional points for on the multicriteria screening doc as possible. The lowest score was a 73, and the highest was a 92. Best of luck!!

BTW: I got a 76% on the new TEAS 6. I am a 4.0 student and it was definitely not what I was expecting after paying for the on-line lesson plan from ATI and studying. I really feel it didn't reflect much of what was offered in their lesson plan. Planning to take it in 2 weeks. But for now, I have 87 points overall for the MSPAR.

I submitted my application last week with 78 points.

Hi guys! I finally submitted my application today with 78 points. I'm really hoping that's enough to get in because MJC is my first choice. I'm hoping more people chime in with their point totals just to get a feel for a cut off score. Good luck to all!

I was selected last year to provide supporting documents I had 68 points and they pretty much told me that they never seen anyone with less than 70 get in so I'm pretty sure 70 is the cut off. Which u are selected to provide documents they go by the list of points and pick from that. At least that's what she told me.

How do you have so many points? You would have to be missing like 2-3 points possible over the whole mspar with that low of a teas test to have 87 points.

So did anyone else checked their summaries for the applications?
