College of the Canyons Spring 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone! I am starting this thread for anyone that will be applying to the COC spring 2015 semester!

I am so nervous to start applying, and so excited at the same time!

I am curious as to what every ones GPA is that will be applying?

No problem! Let me know if you have any other questions. I would be happy to answer them the best I can! Good luck to you as well :)

Anyone rec'd their eval email to apply next month?

I have finally applied. I am so nervous about taking the teas. Has anyone used the book by ATI to study?

I used the ATI manual to take mine. I rented the textbook from an online book rental place for half the cost of ATI prices. I ONLY used the ATI book to study. I feel the book is close enough to the exam to practice from. I would start by taking the practice tests in the book and focus your efforts in those areas. If you can afford it after your first round of practice, purchase both practice tests from the ATI site. Good luck!!

I've heard good things about the ATI reviewer. Regretfully My review was brief, finding free online sample questions. The chemistry seemed most foreign to me since it had been a while since I took the class. I recommend starting the review as soon as you can. Best of luck to you!

I have also applied for COC. This will be my second time applying. Does anyone know when we will be hearing anything

I think if we reference last year's postings for the spring applicants, we should hear about TEAS exam invites in sept and program acceptances mid oct?

For which program are you applying? Best of luck!

I am applying for the RN Program. I have applied for 4 other schools so hopefully it is my time this semester

I'm applying to COC, AVC, LAVC and LAPC LVN-RN programs.

Wishing you the best!

Hi! I applied for the RN program too. Good luck to us :)

I am so nervous about taking the teas. Does anyone know if we hear back about our application in mid September or is it late September? I hope to get in this first semester, I really do not want to wait.

I have my TEAS coming up on Sep 25. (I had to schedule it on my own for another school). COC is one of my top choices of the 5 I applied to. Does anyone know what the selection process is like? Some schools rank you based on your exam scores and other's just require you pass. I think COC says they use a combination of multi-criteria and lottery, but what exactly does that mean?
