APU ELM Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if any other aspiring future nurses out there are applying to Azusa Pacific's Entry-Level Masters program for spring 2018. I applied a couple of weeks ago and it would be awesome to chat with others who are in the same boat. I've been an avid reader on this site for a very long time and this is my first post.

Hey guys!

Is anyone starting in Spring 2018 at the San Diego campus looking for a roommate? Or know any information on housing?

Hi everyone! I was given the opportunity to start early for this Fall 2017, so I took it! So for those of you who were accepted into Summer 2018, there is now an open spot for Spring 2018 to look out for. Keep a look out in your emails!

I just want to encourage anyone that is feeling a bit blue. I was in your shoes earlier this year when I was rejected from APU for fall 2017. However, I reapplied for Spring of 2018 and was given a second interview. Today I received an email stating I had been accepted for summer 2018. My advice keep applying for any of the terms. Retake classes that you didn't do so well in so that can give you a better advantage for the next round of admissions. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back.

Hi @Gcm_92 Congratulations on your acceptance! :D Reading posts like yours keep me motivated and hopeful. :) I also was rejected Fall 2017 and I now reapplied for Summer 2018. Can you please share what you did to improve your application? Did you retake some classes?

That's great news! Which campus? @mcoc18

Hi! Do you mind sharing why you were rejected? You can PM me if you'd like. I just can't get a grasp on how APU chooses their students. Everyone on here seems over qualified!

WOW! CONGRATS! !!

Hi @hopefulkim99, unfortunately I don't know why I was not accepted. They don't disclose that information in the letter and when I asked they said they couldn't tell me. All they said was to go back and review my application and see what areas could use some improvement and if need be to retake classes.

In my clinic we had a NP student from APU and she shared her daughter didn't get in either because there were so many applicants. She just advised not to give up and keep applying. From the forums I've followed APU is really good at giving students an acceptance when they reapply. I've really praying that's my case this application process. :)

Hello,

Congrats on everyone that was accepted! I will be applying in January of 2018 for Spring 2019 and was wondering if those of you who got accepted and those of you who did not would share your GPA with us as well as if you have any health care experience or volunteer experience.

Thank you!

Hello aschreiman,

I was accepted to the spring 2018 cohort San Diego campus. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA (degree in psychology). Applied with 4.0 science pre reqs. Didn't have health care experience and had very limited volunteer experience. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Which campus? Congratulations!!

IE campus, Thank you!

Hi guys! I've been reading through this thread as I am interested in applying into the ELM at apu but not until 2019. I have some questions if anyone can answer.

I'm currently in the process of getting my Bachelors of science in Health science in healthcare management at CSUDH. Does anyone know if this qualifies to apply for the ELM program since I am a bit confused as to what bachelors can apply.

I have only take human anatomy a couple years ago and got a C. Does anyone know if this is ok to keep?

I don't want to waste time retaking it

Since I still need to take physiology, organic chem, gen Chem and microbio.

Lastly

Can I apply to the program if I'm in the process of doing the prereqs or do the have to be done before applying?

Thanks in advance!

Hey! I would recommend taking that anatomy class again since you got a C letter grade.

Yes, you can apply to the program while still taking your prerequisites. I can't recall how many you must at least have completed by the time you apply.

I really recommend you contact the school. The program representatives can really assist you with all your questions. I met up with one the program representative a year ago and he gave me the break down of the program and handed me this packet with useful information. Also, APU offers informational meetings about the ELM program.

Best of luck!

I recently applied for the Summer 2018 term. I'm just waiting now.
