Has anyone attended their program or know anyone who has. They are saying the FNP takes 27 months and the entire cost is $22,100. The cost makes me weary :uhoh3: Trying to find reviews on the internet but not having any success.

OU sucks...I can't wait to be done with them forever. As for grad schools, there are much better ones out there. Their program is so new I doubt they've worked out the kinks. The BSN program sure has a LOT of kinks in it...Glad to move on. Good luck to you. Every time I talked with them I got a different answer. The admissions advisor for the FNP program tore me a new one recently...very rude.

Hey mtsteelhorse,

I saw on another post that you were thinking of attending aspen u. I would love to get my masters and this school seems ideal. Is it as good as it looks? Orwell I be disappointed?

I took one class...it was good. I hate a fantastic instructor but she's no longer there. I think it's a good deal unless there have been changes. I did not know APA AT ALL when I started the program because I was in the bridge program. I decided a MSN for admin or teaching wasn't for me, but not because of the program. I would definitely choose Aspen over OU for grad school. They were super easy to deal with and affordable.

Is aspen accredited? Someone I know said its a diploma mill, but I thought I read it is accredited. I have to bring my gpa to a 3.0 or I'm not going anywhere. Was the admission process bad? I wonder how many people get accepted

Yes, they are accredited:

Aspen University's Master of Science in Nursing program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE, American Association of Colleges of Nursing | CCNE Accreditation). Officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, the CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate and graduate education programs preparing effective nurses.

I'm not sure about being a diploma mill. You might check the thread on Aspen. The admissions process was easy and I honestly don't know if they accept anyone who applies or not. I was in the RN-MSN bridge program but as I mentioned I only took one course. I think if you want an affordable MSN for management or teaching Aspen is just fine.

Thanks so much. I have some time to decide bt I want to get ready!

@kelso915 of course I talked with them before dropping out, I did not make a quick decision to drop out of a program I had invested almost a year and I even talked to the director of the program who was sure but could not give me a definite everytihing was okay. Think about it if they were so sure it would be taken care of why not enroll other students. (???) It was not a problem when I first started the program. Trust I have e-mails from that the issue has not been resolved. Those who choose to stay in the program are trusting that the agreements will be reached by the time clinicals start and others are choosing to go to Ohio.

I am so sad for you. This really stinks! What are your plans from here???

I just read this thread and am genuinely curious as to how everyone is doing now. Did everyone get to attend the schools that they wanted? And how was it?
