I am starting a new thread for nurses starting in the online May 2013 cohort for ADN to BSN outreach initiative. The first class is NRSE 4510. What's on your mind guys!

I love your profile pic BTW. :)

Im trying it the first summer term. My kids will be in school the first 2 weeks. I work four days a week and Im plannning on taking a vacation day during the term which will give me 5 days in a row off halfway through. My stats class is actually 6 weeks long so that should help. My mom said she will help with my kids and around my house if i need it. I scheduled 1 class summer 2 term so I will know right away what my abilities are for next year. Have you taken any classes yet??

I'm halfway through the program, and should be done mid-fall semester. I work 3 days a week, no kids, and am currently taking two classes at a time which totally consume my days off. Personally, I would never take 3 at a time. Since they're 5 week classes, the drop date for a full refund is day 1. After day 3, there is no refund. So by the time you realize you're over your head, all your money is gone.

I could move one to the third term. Is it too late to do it now??? Another question. Why havent I got a letter about my financial aide?. I had my fasfa done when i applied.

Are you working 3, 8 hour shifts or 3 twelves? I work 4, 8 hour shifts so my work days are not totally consumed. When i worked twelves, each day i worked was completely shot plus my next day off. I have more energy and time working 8 hour shifts. Just curious.

I work 3-12s. I try to not spend more than an hour on school on the days I work.

Well I'm enrolled in 4510 the first 5 or summer and enrolled in 2 courses each 5 weeks after with the plan being to finish the program early December. Not planning on working during that period and also won't have any extraneous courses to worry about since all those are done.

Just FYI you have until May 12 to adjust your schedule for 1st 5 of Summer. June 16 for the second 5.

I have a lot of help to get through the first term and I will decide what to do after that. :)

I wish I only had to take the nursing classes. I have 6 other courses to take. :(

I'm with you. I have 11 more to take ( 4 nursing and 7 others) When all is said and done, I will have taken 21... this really is getting old.

Bless your heart!! You will be my hero when you finish. You will deserve a huge celebration!!!

T-9 days

Revised my plans and am only going to be taking 1 course per 5 weeks except for one 5 week block in the fall. Will be done in April of next year.

That seems like a good plan. It all depends on how much time you have to spend on classes. I lonly took one per 5 week for the first year. It sounds like you don't have many gen ed courses to take. That is what is taking me so long. My plan is to take 3 per semester until next summer. Then I will only have 4600 left to take.

Good luck this summer.
